Calls for Entries, 2009 Essay Competition

Omololu Falobi foundation, an organization set up to promote quality media reporting among young and aspiring journalists, invites applications from Mass Communication students in public and private tertiary institutions in Nigeria to participate in the 2nd edition of her Essay writing competition for journalists in training.
Essay theme: "Strategies for overcoming the challenges of poverty, HIV/AIDS and health".

Who should apply?
• Applicants must be current student of Mass Communication or Journalism department in public or private tertiary institution in Nigeria

Entry requirements:
• Submit an essay on the above mentioned topic, Minimum of 1,200 words and maximum of 1,600 words
• Detailed personal profile stating age, sex, school, contact, course level etc. should accompany all entries.
• Only one entry per individual is allowed
• A cover letter from the immediate supervisor, lecturer or Head of department.

• Entry closes 11th September 2009

All received entries will be screened by an independent panel of judges to be named by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Judges’ decisions are final. The top three winners will go home with; a mini Digital video camera, a mini digital camera and a digital voice recorder for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, there will also be consolation prizes, and participants will receive certificates at a presentation ceremony which will take place 7th October 2009.
