THE THANATOS OF THE NIGERIA ARMY

In psychology it is very important for one to study aggression, especially if it is social psychology.
Psychologists argued that everyone of us is aggressive, but some people are more aggressive than others that is why they easily hit, punch, kill, set ablaze or rape.
There are three models of aggression. The biological approach, the frustration aggression approach and the social learning approach.
Proponents of the biological approach opined that people are naturally born with a killer instinct that turn them aggressive.
While in a swift response to the biological approach, other scholars developed the frustration aggression hypothesis, with the argument that people tend to be aggressive when they are frustrated. Meaning, the higher a person is frustrated the wicked he become.
Despite the popularity of this hypothesis, scholars in social psychology criticized it fully with a new approach called the social learning; here a person learn how to hit and kill from others, he learn how to greet and be decent from the interaction.
If you clearly capture the whole incident that happened in Zaria, one might link it with aggression. In fact, the pictures of the tragedy that are in circulation are reference to how aggressive the Nigeria army could be.
If the biological approach can fits in here to explain their behaviour, we can say that the Thanatos (killer instinct) of the Nigeria army is wicked and similar to that of animals.
Even the most aggressive specie in the animal kingdom will not burn other animals to death, the worst they do is to kill and eat for a meal.
The military in Zaria stabbed some female members of the Islamic movement in their private parts, they rape, involved in arson, etc.
No matter how aggressive a psycho-stable person is, he will never put fire on a human being and watch him burnt to death.
The Nigeria army need a psychologist for they are not human anymore but some other species in disguised. I'm serious!
