How To Thrive During Recession (1) by SonofIssachar: 1:36am On Feb 09, 2016
Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. – Daniel 11:32

It is no news that there is yet another economic recession hitting the world, wrecking great havoc on institutions, homes and individuals across the globe. As with every period of recession, this meltdown will see many go bankrupt and under, never to rise again; it will also witness the birth of a new set of millionaires who will benefit from the transfer of wealth.

There are three simple principles that will position you at the receiving end of the resources that will change hands during this economic upheaval and establish you amongst those who will emerge wealthy or wealthier by the time the crisis had blown out. Here is the first:

Know Your God
The passage above establishes that those who know their God shall enjoy two benefits: they shall be strong and then carry out exploits. Not that they will not feel the heat or be shaken by the crisis, but they shall remain resilient in the face of hardships that is blowing others out of place; and building on that resilience, they will perform great feats that will make them the go-to of their time. But, to achieve this, you must first know your God.

In case the God you know is not Jesus, the Creator of heaven and earth, permit us to introduce Him to you:

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:16-18)

‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. (Haggai 2:8 )

I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.
(Isaiah 45:3)

But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him. Then he was driven from the sons of men, his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and appoints over it whomever He chooses. (Daniel 5:20-21)

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
(2 Chronicles 16:9)

If Jesus is the God you know, then you are on track to thriving during this global economic crisis. However, if you don’t know Him yet, you need to make with Him immediately by calling on Him and confessing Him as your Lord and Saviour.

You will succeed in Jesus Name!
