its the ooni of ife, but the former ooni made ridicule of the revered throne by making himself a political king and not a traditional king that was meant to be the father of all the yorubas in Nigeria and diasporia, thereby making people to respect the alaafin of oyo more than the ooni of ife. And thats the shame the new ooni is trying to remove by visiting the other most respected obas in yorubaland who are like younger brothers to him based on the yoruba history, inorder to foster good relationship and reputation that was messed up by the last ooni.

Omo n'Oba n'Edo is his title.
Benin, Bini, Beni etc are strange words and are not part of Edo lexicon. No Edo calls himself BINI. The city is not BENIN to the natives. It is OREDO . As capital of of the kingdom some natives call it OREDO N' OBA YE.
