The question is a good one but it comes at a wrong time. Nobody has used the m5 mini for even a week right now. There's no users review here. No one is willing to buy it because of the dollars rise. So the answers above is only coming from the C8 users.

On a serious note however. Op I'll advice you go for camon c8. Gionee lied to all of us. We were promised a 64bit 1.3ghz quadcore chipset, which supports 4g and sports the malit720 gpu. What we got after months of waiting was none other than that crappy low end chipset. The camon c8 is 64bit, supports 4g(if it works, it's on an 'as is' basis), new opengl3.1 compliant gpu (malit720) but the battery sucks and it lacks international recognition. The camon c8 also comes with 1gb ram, m5mini however is 2gb ram. So Op chose wisely.

THANKS. Gionee never lie on specification. Moreso their specifications are up to standard. For instance if gionee is producing a 5mp phone, it will surely be up to standard. on the other hand if tecno or infinix is producing a 8mp of phone, it may not be up to gionee's 5mp. except for very few tecno product.

but the hardware specs of both devices are alike....1.3ghz as usual which is quad.....some are saying gionee is octa....but gionee chipset is mt6580.....while tecno camon c8 is mt6735....
