Today is the mid term elections where all members of the Congress and about 60% of Senate face reelection.  This is crucial because this will more or less determine if George Bush will remain a lame duck president for the next two years.  I find the new design of Illinois ballot paper, which is about 20 X 10 inches, to be extremely eazy to complete.  During  past elections where you have to punch holes in the ballot that created the 'hanging' and 'dimple' chad debacle,  this time, all you have to do is to join two straight lines together with an ink pen.  When you are finished, you proceed to insert the ballot into an electronic counting machine that validates your vote or immediately indicate if there are any errors on your ballot.

There are people who opted for the computer touch screen voting.  I would have loved this method except that voters kept calling the election judges for help because the system kept shutting down and screens kept freezing.  I certainly hope this is not the method Nigeria is proposing for next year's election!
