These planets are also visible in the earth's night sky, you probably mistake them as stars (That explains why most of our night wishes don't come true, we probably were just wishing on planets and not stars )

Ok to identify a planet in the night sky, look for a light dot in a dark night that is a bit like an average star but blurry and look hard enough to make sure it's not twinkling ..

for a better view, a Gelilean telescope is recommended.... Have fun with Astronomy

I am not even sure stores knows the difference between Binoculars and telescopes in Nigeria.

I once tried "Konga" and i saw binoculars labelled as telescopes. It's a pity ..
