Gaddafithe2nd: In fairness, Aregbesola started before these guys. He's already in partnership with IITA on some specialised crop production.....http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/osun-signs-mou-with-iita-on-agriculture/ http://guardian.ng/business-services/business/osun-signs-mouic-development/ but you need to understand, Lagos as a big consumer will not look the way of Osun, because Osun does not have the kind of Land mass, that will accomodate the scale Lagos is looking for. |

mapet: Bro, I got what you are saying. But the people of Osun aren't feeling the partnerships his govt had with various companies. The market is big to accommodate all players. We have cocoa plantation in Osun and many food and cash crops, he can partner with industrialised state in Nigeria and countries outside Nigeria. It is not a must he partners with Lagos. |

Gaddafithe2nd: Truth is that the two states that has the population to make such business worthwhile in Nigeria is Lagos and Kano. Meanwhile Kano is the producer, and except Osun has something else in exchange........Lagos is still the darling bride for markets. I am also from Osun state, and I believe we should be patient........ |

bettercreature: When you did not pay attention in English class how would you be able to read. Do you understand the difference between quantity and value. " Lagos state consumes 2.19m heads of cattle annually "- quantity " Lagos state consumes N 15m worth of cattle daily" - Value Have I helped to explain the difference ! 1 Like |

LordVoldemort: The "Op" is synonymous with body. Before you see this thread, both the body and title says N2.19m cattle. |

tosin2013: That should be about right, not every lagosian has the means to consume the same amount of meat yearly. And an adult cow yields anough kg of meat to feed 9 people using an average number. Also the quality of goat meet and sheep/ram meat consumed was not stated as that is an alternative to beef |

GOV. AMBODE IS CORRECT WITH THIS MY ANALYSIS 2,190,000 COWS PER YEAR. i,e. Consumption per day =2.19m/365 =6000cattles per day. 18m people in Lagos (Excluding Sango that some are from OKO OBA ABATTIOR) 18m/6000 =3000people per Cow/Day Is it not Justifiable? . subjected to any correction. |

I just dey laff. Olodo too much for nairaland. The headline is clear enough yet people don't know the difference between pricing and quantity. 1. He meant over 2 million cows per year and not 2 million naira worth of cows. 2. The estimates could be correct because not all Lagosians consume meat regularly. It is usually on the highhigh during festive period. So you can't use population of Lagosians to judge consumption. It is based on the records of daily killings in recognized Lagos abbatoirs. I hope these clarify issues? |

tosin2013:Don't mind the useless statistics if Lagos is the Destination for import it therefore means that all the rice received at Lagos port are consumed by Lagosians.....such a lame statistics |
