I installed AVG free 2012 edition on my laptop (Microsoft Vista). Since then I'm not able to complete the boosting stage of my computer. I have tried to do system recovery and computer repair but it remains the same. It never goes beyond the booting cycle. Please how do I go about this? I have not been able to use my system for days because of this. It just doesn't boot to the end.

Good day all. I hope the fact that I used that large font size to draw your attention will help you understand how badly I need your help.
What happened is that my laptop screen went blank. Or almost blank, the picture of said screen is below.
Please what is wrong? I didn't drop the laptop, didn't bang it anywhere. I was just watching a movie when the screen just turned blurry. Then I turned the lappy off to see if the blur would go and the whole thing would become normal, but it started showing the picture below. What do I need to do?

all4naija: Try it with external screen to make sure the problem is not coming from the laptop screen.

I can see your graphic adapter is going to fail very soon. The REPFLOW graphic chip thing is not always advisable. I would wish you opt for a new motherboard.

However, what is your system configuration?

And will changing motherboard erase my hard drive? I know the motherboard thingy is costly that's why I shouted. Can you give a rough estimate of how much it willcost for my laptop? Thank u.

all4naija: Sorry pal. I didn't meant to scare you.I told you the truth, and I wouldn't advise you to go for graphic chip reflow. The motherboard would cost approximately 100 dollars. It is better to start making budget for that before the final breakdown of the graphic adapter. Don't let anybody advise you to spend extra money on reflow because it is not going to stay for more than three months before the final breakdown. Save the one for the re-flow job and add it to other budget and get a new motherboard.

I could see the figures and all that on the screen if i look too well or use a tourch light, better still when am in a well illuminated area. i believe your screen is still okay, you need to change the module or flex

primeson1: I have been using toshiba satelite c660 laptop since july last year. It fell down from a table some weeks back and it didnt start up again. Wen i start it up, it will just show a blank screen and stays like dat. I removed d hard disk and connected it to another system in whc i copied all my important files n formatted it. But i tried loading windows 7 on it, but it will be very slow as in very very slow, it will get stuck at expanding windows files or setup is satrting. I cheked d ram too and its working. Pls wat do u guys tink its wrong wit d system and i have taken it to an it repair shop and d engineer sed d hard disk had crashed. But how can d hard disk crash wen i could still see it on another system wen connected tru extenal disk connector. Plsssssss i need your help.
