You need to download bluestacks application first on your PC. Bluestacks will now enable you to download whatsapp and other android apps on your PC.

1. Is it only when you play media files it occurs?
2. Go to My Computer,When you click on folders do you hear a click sound?

1 Yes 2 No : Then your audio driver is either not available or not enabled.
Possible Solutions:
A. Go to Device Manager, Click on sound, then right click on the audio driver shown ( mine is Realtek) if it is disabled you have to enable it.
B.If not available you will need to download an audio driver.
C. Try last known good configuration.

1 Yes 2 Yes
Then it's the media player that is faulty. Check if the audio setting of the media player has not been tampered with and tweak it properly or download VLC player.

Is your disk drive partitioned? If yes, please move all moveables (movies, music e.t.c) away from Drive C to any other Drive you have created. Your laptop needs all the space it can get from Drive C when processing.

Secondly, using Norton Antivirus slows down the PC as Norton takes a lot of space. Try changing to a lighter antivirus like Eset or kaspersky.

Have you scanned comprehensively your PC for any Virus recently? If No please do that.

Could be your monitor display is faulty and needs replacement or a Mother Board problem. You need to contact an EXPERIENCED computer repairer.

try f10 several time to get to bios
and look for the bios version you have i would
compare this version to the one on hp website.

After that go to diagnostics and run me a
test of the hard drive. make note of the result.
then f9 to load setup default

press f10 to save and exit then
attempt to boot again

what model is your hp. fo rexample hp cq60

L@@K beside the laptop, where you normally plug the charger and see
if any burnt. connect your charger, please don't plug it into the mains
just to the laptop. After that try wiggling the charger and see if you can
feel anything loose.

I did some updates recently from Microsoft. About 109Mb. After successful installation, the blue screen thingy started. It lasted for hours. I wanted to do system restore, can't find anyone to pick.

Is anyone faced with this problem?

How safe is Microsoft Updates then?

microsoft still remains a very safe site. You were asked not to shutdown or unplug your pc. The most probable cause is the system went off while the update is in progress.

I get ur point bro. I stopped the update and shutdown when it was around 50+ (downloading, not installing where u are warned not to shutdown).

Similar people have this problem online bro. Just search it. It has been happening since 1897 cheesy Go figure!

I thought the Blue screen means a software that is installed recently is not compatible with the system?

Well, I have removed all the recent updates from Microsoft. I don't trust 'em anymore.

The BIOS version is F.1c while the BIOS vendor is Insyde

Ran a Diagnostics on the PRIMARY HARD DISK SELF TEST and it displays "HARD DISK NOT EXIST" and when I ran it on MEMORY TEST "it says MEMORY TEST PASS". After doing f9 and F10 then it automatically boot itself and went back to same old story

The model is HP PAVILION DV6 6c11nr(window 7)

Actually the laptop was bought in US but when it arrives my address, the cover beneath the battery cover was slightly open...which I forced to close then later I realised that all the screw used in closing the back cover were pulled out.....Naija Custom I guess

Can you open and check if the hard disk is physically present. If it is, might be bad due to mechanical damage while in transit.

Baring in mind previous help you have got. There are many reasons a system can be slow. It might be due to an aging processor, poor cooling system, blocked vents or even an hard disk with bad sectors. Since you have defraged your hdd. I would advise you don't partition. It won't change a thing. All you need do is carry out an hard disk test from your bios setup to ascertain the health of the hdd.

the Dell 13r with intel processor goes for 70k or so. Should be an ideal one and can assure of it lasting more than that duration.
