I personally appreciate your effort but this is so unfair to your readers who follows your stories here. You don't sound selfish sir. While I was ill, I lost the manuscript of the work. It wasn't until I decided to begin reposting it again that I realized its missing. My sister unknowingly did away with it while cleaning the room. I am currently re writing thepages of the work. I'm so glad that I had already pasted more than half of the work here already. I was previously working on another ory but this development, I had to dump 'always and foreve' (that's the title of the one I was working on) so as to complete this work. I have never left my work on NL incomplete and I am not about to.

Helen turned to him with a smile. She was a bitter woman she really did smiled up at him.
'I've come too far from where I started from. I can't give up now'
'We are not giving up. they are our kids remember?'
'I do. That's the more reason I can't turn my back on my plans'
Philip stared hard on Helen and wondered if his love for this woman would not be his undoing.
'Helen?'
'Yes?'
'Do we need to monitor them? They are our kids for christ sakes and would not take it likely with us if they ever find out'
'What's wrong with you? Why are you suddenly soft?', Helen sat up to ask him.
 'When my kid is concern, I don't take it likely'
Helen wisely remained quiet. She smiled at him again and brought down her lips to his. The kiss was intense, brief and reassuring.

Jake was shaking Maureen awake.
'What is it?'
'Its almost morning sweet. You should bath and dress. I don't want Philip opening the door and seeing you like this'
'He won't'
'Good. Then you need to have a bath and dress'
Maureen forced her eyes opened. She peered.'What time is it?'
'5am'
Slowly, she came awake, and beckoned for him to follow.
'You go ahead. I will make the bed for us'
Defeated, she walked to the bathroom and Jake soon heard water running. He wasn't ashamed that he had chosen Maureen over his kids. That didn't matter. Victoria and the boys would be well taken care of by Henry and his father.
Jake was more worried for Maureen. The rate at which she demanded for sex and participated scared him. It isn't normal for her to be so insatiable and he knew it. He was still making the bed when she came back in, smiling like a simpleton.
'What's the smiles for?'
'You Jake'
'You know I love you Maureen, don't you?'
'Then why did you treat me so shabbily while I was carrying Victoria and Victor in Lagos? Why did you refuse to make contact with me      and the kids for over two years?'
'I hurt you, didn't I?'
'You did Jake. You sure did and I kept hating myself for thinking getting pregnant would make you marry me'
At first, I was angry that you lied to be and tricked me into thinking you were a prostitute. Then I became enraged when you told my father you are carrying my kids. I refused to be tricked. I hated you and the kids'
'What changed your mind Jake? Why did you cut short your exile after two years?'
Jake closed his eyes and felt the pain. 'I have never told you this Maureen but do you remember visiting ikeja Mall with the kids?'
'Yeah. I visited Kemi and took the kids for sight seeing. Victor, my poor little victor got lost and I was confused'
'I saw you Maureen. I saw you with my beautiful kids and couldn't believe you are so much beautiful. I stood from afar and watched you and the kids. Victor,saw me. He might have seen a picture of mine because I immediately saw the recognition in his smart little face. The boy was coming towards me and then I know I had to move. I went into a crowd and he got lost. I hid again and watched you looked for him. I saw your confused state and it touched me. When you finally saw Victor, you knelt beside him, hugged him and began crying. But then the worst happened'
'What Jake?'
'Victor used his little hands to wipe away your tears. I was jealous of my own son. I wanted to be the one to do that. I wanted to meet you again, kiss your lips and above all, I wanted to meet my kids and make us family. I watched you left with them and it broke my heart. I knew then that it was time I returned home. My years of exile were over but I needed to take care of my addiction'
'You did?'
'I sent Henry a message that I would be gone for a few months. I traveled out Maureen and checked myself into a rehab center. The thought of you and the kids kept me going. I returned after six months too late'
'Yeah, you were so late Jake'
'I was late. Victor had drown in the pool at the back of the house'
'Jake, Maureen said while trying to conceal her emotions, can we make love?'
'You want that?'
'Yes'
They made love, quickly and then he sent her back to the bathroom for another bath. He was still lying down when the door opened and Philip came in with Helen.
'Where is she?', Philip asked
'Bathing', Jake replied. Philip and Henry had just watched them made love but they didn't know.
'Jake honey, I've come with your breakfast', his mother said.
Jake said nothing. She was on the bed, examining his face and hugging him when Maureen opened the door. She took in the sight and was about to retreat into the bathroom when her father called her
'Young Lady. You will come in here and have your breakfast or I will force you'
'I won't let you do that', Jake shouted.
Maureen saw it that her father would want to do that. Tying the sash of her robe securely, she went to the bed and sat near her husband.
'Its time for breakfast', Philip announced
'Dinning room is downstairs'
Slowly, they walked out of the room and were shocked by what they saw. The house was big and very expensive. The stairs were polished and neat. Philip led the way to the room and there, a maid was already serving. Helen dismissed her and they all took their seats.
'Philip, you were living in money while Joel was suffering to feed, clothe and pay my fees. Shame on you', Maureen spat
'Sweetheart, hope you know this is blood money? They make their money by selling guns and ammunition to robbers and assassins', Jake told her
Maureen looked at her father and shrugged. She pretended not to care but she did cared.
'I will not eat on the same table with these evil people', she declared and pushed back her chair
'You will sit on that chair or God help me I will have you tied and fed', Helen responded
Something in Helen's tune made Maureen believed her. She sat back and Jake filled her plates with eggs, chips and made a cup of tea for her.
'Eat up sweet, we need our strength to escape from these horrible people', Jake cajoled her
They had their breakfast in silence. Philip was quiet. He couldn't take it off his mind what these two were doing in their room. Especially, not his little girl.
'Can we tour your blood mansion?', Henry asked his mother
'No, darling, you can't'
'What do you want from us? We can't remain locked up forever'
Philip pulled out his chair and looked at the expensively furnished room. He had spent a fortune for this house.
'Go back to your rooms and don't try to escape. You will be caught'
When they were through eating, Jake and Maureen were escorted to their rooms. They slept and were awaken for lunch.
Quietly, they ate.
'Can I talk with my kids?', Maureen asked
'No', Helen smirked
'Do not expect me to be a cold and heartless bi.ch like you who only pushed out her kids into this world but knew nothing about motherly love and instinct. By the way Helen, you are a disgrace to motherhood'
'I will kill you', Helen shouted and was holding a silencer into Maureen's face.
'Keep that gun down Helen'
'If I say no?'
'I will kill your son. For goodness sake they are only kids and just trying to provoke us'
Maureen saw the deadly look on Helen's face and regretted her words to the woman. She was on her feet, and into Jake's strong arms. He knew his mother so well, she had that same look on her face when she told her father she would commit suicide if he won't allow her divorce Anthony.
'Mother this is my wife you are pointing a gun at'
'Do not pull that trigger Helen. Now, Maureen apologize to her'
'No, I will not apologize', Maureen declared
'If you don't apologize to her, I will have Jake thrown out of my house. We treat you as guest here, we can treat you as prisoners if you want'
Maureen slowly turned to Helen, 'I am sorry Helen'
'Well, you heard her now Helen, put away the damn gun', Philip was too upset.
'Next time your kid talk to me like that,I will not hesitate', Helen said and walked out of the room.
there was silence. Everyone breath a sigh of relieve. Philip turned to Maureen
'Next time you talk to her like that, I will personally punish you', he said and walked out. Two men came into the room.
'Up to your rooms', the dark one said
Henry, seeing one of their parents' assassin did not argue as they were led to their rooms.
'How could you Maureen? She would have killed you', he said once they were back to their rooms
'She didn't'
'Your father saved your life'

A week later, the door opened and Philip came into the room, closely followed by Helen.
'What again?'
Philip ran to Jake and gave him a blow on the nose.
'What's that for?', Helen asked
'That's for turning my daughter into a s.x addict'
'No'
'Oh yes. Look at her, she asks for sex at any given opportunity'
'No I don't'
'Yes Maureen, you do', Philip chipped in
'How in the hell do you know that?', Jake asked
There was silence and then Maureen turned to her father, blood draining from her face, her eyes hurt and her hands made into a fist.
'I hate you', she shouted at him over and over again
'Mother how could you watch us? S.x is a private affair. What kind of parents are you anyway?', Jake asked his mother.
'How dare you watch us?', Maureen shouted angrily at her father. She rushed to him and began hitting his chest, calling him all the names she could think of.
Jake sat on the bed, Staring daggers at his mother and blaming himself for not being careful.
'Tell me philip, is there a security camera in the bathroom?', Maureen had to know.
'Yes, in this house, no room is private', Helen spite out. Slowly Maureen let go of her father, she turned to Jake, feeling the lust creeping in on her again and trying hard to hide it. She saw him looked at her, and knew she had to do something
'Jake don't believe them. We both know I am not an addict. Gosh, I stayed years without sex when you were in Lagos'
'Maureen', her father called. She was kneeling by her husband, desperately trying to convince him. He helped her up and kissed her lips which she responded without meaning to. The kiss continued and then she went for his belt and Jake stilled. He stopped the kiss and looked at her as if he was seeing her for the first time in ages.
'No Jake, please believe me', she said in tears.
'You are so shameless Maureen', Helen added
Jake went on his feet and looked at her realizing that her father had hit the nail on the head. Maureen on her part wanted only sex at that moment but knew she had to hide it.
'Do you believe me now?', Philip asked Jake.
Jake nodded, much to Maureen's annoyance. Her father beckoned to Jake and he began walking out.
'No, where are you taking him?', Maureen asked
'Your husband and I need to have a chat. Man to man'
'Please don't hurt him'
'I won't', jake followed Philip out of the door and he followed him down the stairs to the lawn and both sat down.
The two men looked steadily at each other. The younger trying to hide his emotions and the older, trying to read the younger's mind.
'You have two choices to make Jake. One is for you to pack out of that room and have a room for yourself but you will be allowed to see Maureen for an hour daily, no sex shall occur between you and the second is for you to leave this house'
'Maureen need a doctor'
'I know'
'I choose the first option, not about to leave my wife at your mercy'
'You love her?'
'Yes, I do'
'Tell me about Joel. I heard he married the Nicholas heiress. Is he happy with her?'
'Very happy. Theirs is a perfect match'
'How many kids to they have now?'
'Three. Tell me, your kids keep having twins. Does it run in the family?'
'I am a twin and their mother is one too. My twin died when I was ten. My late wife's twin got missing when they were six. Nothing had been heard from her'
'We lost one of our twins too'
'How did Maureen take it?'
'Bad. Very bad. How could you afford to turn your back on your own kids?'
Philip not wanting to go there just stood up, putting an end to their temporal trance. Jake understood him and also stood up. They walked back to the house and up to Jake and Maureen's room. She was pacing in the room but ran to embrace Jake when she saw them. 'I will be in the room next to yours. It for the best dear'
'How could you say that? You can't leave me'
'I'm not leaving you'
'Philip forced you, didn't he?'
'No, I made the decision'
He brushed her lips with his and picked his two extra shirt and trousers given to him by his mother. Took a long look at her and walked out.
As soon as the door closed behind them, Maureen broke down into tears and her sexual need over powered her. Her arm hurt, her heart was tearing apart and her head was splitting.

Maureen Jason had gone through heart break more than four times in her life and since she considered herself very strong, she always pull through it all in months. When her first love slept with her best friend, she was in too much pain but then, she refused to talk about it with anyone. It wasn't until she was healed that she told Mich. When she fell in love with Jake Joseph, she felt like a fresh flower. She kept her head high when he had denied her pregnancy and refused to force him into taking responsibilities for the kids their passion created. At last, fearing that her baby may never know his father, she had to reveal to Anthony that his son was responsible for her pregnancy. She was heart broken when he looked at her straight in the eye and told her he won't take responsibility. Maureen took all that with head held high as high heavens.
Yes, she survived it when he let her raised their kids for three years. she loved him and even became stronger when he left her again with another pregnancy. Maureen survived loosing her beloved son, Victor. She pulled her self together and kept reminding herself that she was way stronger than most women. With head held high, she survived the pity of her close family and friends. She took it very calm and even managed to ignore the print and electronic media that called her all sort of names. She was accused of forcing herself on Jake Joseph to get his money. Maureen refused to respond because she knew they didn't know what love tasted like.

She had survived her brother and her husband's brother seeing her uncladness. She had even overheard the maids whispering that she had forced poor Jake into marrying her but it really didn't matter. She was a very strong woman. When Helen shot her arm, she took it in good faith and accepted it as part of life. Of course, she considered herself the strongest, when it comes to emotions, but then, Maureen realized she wasn't so very strong at all when she found herself staring at the father she had thought died a long time ago.
That, she couldn't bear. She felt her heart shattering as she remembered her childhood. She had loved and adored her father all her life. To her, he was as perfect as a god and she knew he loved her too much. When Joel returned home one evening to tell her their parents died, she refused to believe it. Burying her parents, staying with distant relatives while Joel finish his university was evident enough that her parents were forever gone. Maureen's world came crashing when it occurred to her that her so perfect father wasn't perfect at all.
This particular pain, she can not bear so she hid it behind the one thing she could think of -s.x. Making love with her husband made her forget her pain and sorrow. And then Linda blamed her for the dead of Victor and she kept craving for relieve for her pain in the form of sex. Unknowingly for her, she was turning into an addict.
When her father kidnapped her, she never knew she would survive it. S.x seems to be the only thing helping her deal with her pain. Jake arrived the next day and she was so happy. Now, everyone thought she was an addict. She thought of Victor and felt the pain coming back. At that moment, she wanted only her husband. She couldn't think, she couldn't sleep, Jake presence seemed to drive away the devil pursuing her in her dreams. When Helen came in that afternoon with lunch, Maureen barely ate it. She picked at it and held her chest. She was a really troubled woman and no one noticed it. Her brother would have, but he wasn't here.
She bath, ignoring the pain in her arm and knowing that her father might be watching her. Her bossom felt so heavy she had to remove some of her milk. Wasting her kids food made her cry. Ethan and Evan were suppose to eat from her and now she was wasting their food.
She knew she wouldn't survive that night.
