i think the best thing is to buy ready made flatbed.though it is possible to build a flatbed. i will recommend that for a transporter. transporters are the ones with an average of 8-10 trucks. they always enter into contract with major logistics companies or manufacturing firms etc. because of this, they have enough money to build flatbeds. they only company i know that build flatbed is IPL. their price is very high.but it is what i can longlasting flatbed.
if you have a chassis that you buy abroad,you can cover it with iron sheets,they vary in sizes and the local welder man can to that for you.
if you have just one truck, buying an imported flatbed is the best option. you can get that from 1.2 million upwards depending on it thickness. there is a lot to learn in the business. seek advise from experienced hands.

There are diff types of Haulage biz and it all depends on what u decide to haul which ranges from Oil and Gas,Sand,commodities etc. If u are thinking of oil and Gas u would need tankers,Tippers for Sand,flat beds/Box truck for commodities.

It is true that u could make up to 300K per month buh this kind of biz has its challenges to. U need a good Driver,good mechanic and where to get Original spare parts. Apart from these some of d drivers/Managers are fetish so u really need to be careful and think deeply before u go in2 it but ders a lot of money to b made.
if u are thinking of going into d Sand biz I would advice u start during d dry season because things a always dull during d raining season and d trucks break down more. I would only advice u to go into this business if u have a passion for it because dats d only thing that would keep u going when things are rough.

The truth about the business is that it is very lucrative. i have been working in the ports for the past three years and people are making money day in day out. the only problem you encounter in the business is that of the drivers, but with good monitoring, you will discover that you will begin to have fleet of trucks.
The maximum of daily earning is N20000 after paying drivers and fuel cost. Though you can make three trips on days when there is less trafic and public holidays. the driver works six days in week.
so you have N480000.ook every month.
i have been opportuned to have one truck in the last 12 months and all i can say is Glory be to God.
The secret is that you need to be hard on drivers otherwise you will make nothing out of it.
