Driven by dearpreye's thread, 3 Idiots which made frontpage, I recalled another very very lovely Bollywood movie I watched almost same time I watched 3 Idiots, It was also directed by Aamir Khan (Rancho in 3 Idiots).

Seriously, I cried while watching 3 Idiots , but I wept when I watched Like Stars on Earth.

Every parent, I mean it, every parent need to see this movie.

What are my lesson as well?

1) All children are never and can never be the same, we are not hardwired or programmed to do things same way.

2) Pay attention, very close attention to what your child/children love, that may and is where their potential lies.

3) No matter how stupid/unruly your child may be, there is always a cause, things don't just happen out of the blue, they are driven by something.

4) Teachers need to look beyond book knowledge while bringing up children, is not just about who sabi read pass.

5) All, everyone has hidden potentials, that we either help them harness or kill by our reaction

6) Every Child is SPECIAL

Lol, it can wait for two years, just want parents to see it, as long as people get to know about it, the time doesn't matter..

I'll try to see this one too this weekend. I'm aways attracted to very inspirational and motivational movies.

I just hope I'll learn very vital lessons, just like the OP has enumerated in this post. There's absolutely no end to learning.

I can still recall with anger the comparisons my parents made between me and my other siblings. My parents didn't know ( I believe ) at the time that all kids are uniquely different and that their Creator has imbued them with their own distinct character, values and manner of behaviour; they simply wanted all of us to behave like the best amongst us. It didn't go down well with some of us.

I'm happy we are gradually unlearning all those limiting beliefs we grew up. The times are changing indeed.

The purpose of this site is to inform, educate and entertain. I believe the owner knows entertainment brings more traffic to his site, hence the obvious more leaning towards threads that entertain the people.

I hope someday we will see more of educative and informational threads on the front page.

Its a lovely film,I cried my eyes out same goes with my sis in law.I learnt a lesson dat we shuldnt expect d same intellectual outcome from children,don't compare ur children bcuz every child is unique and endowed by his creator. Since then I hardly beat my child when teaching him his work and he is improving,av stopped calling him OLODO,rather encourage him so he will believe in himself that he can do any task giving to him.
Nowadays,position is nt a barrier to me but the scores in each subject and I focus on his weak areas.
Parent really needs to watch dis.

After watching d movie It occur to me dat d best way to take a child is thru Playway method,children understand things better thru play.Aamir Khan used d method to arouse the children mind to wat he wanted to teach.

The movie is really touching, so much to take away, plenty lessons to be learnt.



It's like in real life Aamir khan will be a teacher

Hmmm.....have to watch it. Guess most parents and youths as well should watch since too many truly believe that they are failures if they don't attend or complete university.... certificate or nothing. Some kids have special talent or a knack for certain things...we should be able to spot that and channel the youth in that direction.

It is one of d coolest educational Indian movies after 3 idiot i have seen.
