– David Mark, a former Senate president, reveals PDP’s plans on 2019 presidential election

– The party is to nominate only popular candidates to win people’s hearts

It seems that Nigeria’s main opposition party has some serious strategy for 2019 presidential election.
According to a former Senate president, David Mark, the imposition of candidates during the Nigerian general elections of 2015 was the reason why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ended its 16-year rule.

Addressing the PDP supporters at his Otukpo country home in Benue state on Monday, Mr Mark said that the PDP should stop impositioning unpopular candidates and reposition to return to power in 2019.
He said: “We must come to terms with reality that PDP lost the last general election because of over bearing tendencies of some leaders who imposed candidates on the people.

It is inevitable that we must change from the old ways and allow the will of the people prevail. Unfolding events clearly show that the PDP is the party for the people. But we must not take them for granted by forcing unpopular candidates on the people.

The coast is clear that the PDP has the road map for peace, unity and development of Nigeria. Nigerians now know the difference. Therefore popular candidates should be put forward to drive the ship of the party ahead of the next general elections.”

He also emphasized that the party has all chances of returning to power if all party members work together and sacricifice their personal interest for the sake of ordinary Nigerians.

The meeting was also attanded by Emmanuel Agbo, the state chairman of the PDP, Abba Moro, a former interior minister, and General Geoffrey Ejiga, a member of the PDP board of trustees and caucus leader of the party in the Benue south senatorial zone.

Looking unlikely, especially with INEC's power to declare elections inconclusive without substantial cause. PDP needs to focus on INEC becoming non-partisan as this will affect the outcome of future elections

With the budget bruhaha,Saraki case,2 factions of APC,Economy mismanagement,fuel scarcity,Boko haram pretending now to be herdsmen gives PDP 60% of taking over power,all they need is to tell Nigerians that they hve learned from there mistakes which will give them extra 15%,then the remaining is just little effort to campaign.....PMB and APC are good at being opposition..my opinion tho

There is absolutely nothing wrong with PDP, afteral its just a name, cos most PDP corrupt members are now APC chieftains. Nigerians wanted to taste new peppersoup now they have seen it. I am sure that if things continue the way they are now, without even campaigning PDP will win with a landslide.

We shall be back in 2019 to reposition this country from the APC's dasterd cluelessness!

That's exactly their plan now that they've sabotage all effort of APC let assume this hardship and bad economy standard continue till almost end of APC tenure PDP must have win more masses for themselves as the current opposition party so by then PDP win 2019 election and APC must have lifted another party or better still stand as opposition! Can u imagine what about to befall nigeria ? If only nigerians can wake up now and call for dividend of this so call entity, one nigeria not going to work for us in future

PDP wont win because they still do not know what they did wrong. They believe it is the imposition of candidates. APC is really not in competition with PDP 2019 truly. All APC has to do is put constant light in one state. Any state and they have won. They do not even have to fight. They have already Endorsed so many projects in Edo, Lagos, SS, Benue. Unfortunately IPOB are disrupting peace in SE so when they done they can begin work. If APC gives Nigerians light they have 2019. And even if they do not KOWA, YDP will step in. They will have everyone's vote. Not PDP.
