I hope Fowler won't put all his friends children and other elites candidate.
Still the same style of recruitment... undecided
With the current mindset and attitude of the average Nigerian even if all the employments were given to the non elite and enemies of fowler the same non elites and enemies of fowler shall sit tight and only allow their friends and relations only for employment. So its just going to be shift in status and power. But i have faith Nigeria shall be Great and even if the Elephant eats a lot it will not stop the rat from eating.

After they had already finished their recruitment/replacement or whatever dey want to call it on code.. They've been at it since February or even earlier and we all know what the criteria was ; Recommendation letter.

U re very correct. They have complied their list already.
Re: FIRS To Recruit 1,250 New Staff by Junior66(m): 8:56am On Apr 15, 2016
No need to apply. The slots have already been filled. 1 slot for each first class chief in Nigeria, 5 slots for each minister, 2 slots per senator, 5 per Governor, 4 per APC chieftain, 3 for Directors and Permanent secs in related ministries etc etc. No space for us ordinary citizens. May God help us.
Meanwhile Sai Baba has not said anything about the illegal recruitments going on under his watch. CBN, NSCDC, NIS, FIRS etc have been recruiting but Baba gaskiya neva talk. Fulani wan finish us for our own lands but Baba integrity neva talk. I hope he is not sleeping.

Internal restructuring and adequate control is the first step Fowler should focus on. Our tax law has a lot of grey areas especially Withholding tax.

Also, tax payer might not want to pay because of dawdling economy. And our tax law is not helpful at all. For instance, a coy that has many Credit Notes values but could not use it to settle other types of taxes other than CIT is drawback to tax payers, especially where such coy is not liquid enough to meet up with tax liability using its cash flow.

The taxpayer can always claim refund for the unutilised Withholding tax Credit notes.

Make the process of paying tax appealing and less cumbersome ....people will pay. Not now that you wan to get TIN and the officials at FIRS would be dribbling you just because they want bribe angry

FIRS is very corrupt. It's a Lion' s den. Business owners can testify. How can they charge 5% of your total cost of transaction after removing withholding from source( The organisation engaging your company). It isn't that Nigerian business owners don't want to pay tax, it is FIRS that is not realistic. They are just too corrupt. They tell you that you can't go free except you settle. The lest of their bribe is 500 thousand naira upwards, ranging in millions and they want business owners to part with their hard earned money, never.
Babatunde Fowler should review the tax system and make it easy for business owners to pay and also purge its system of CORRUPT OFFICIALS. Until they do what's right, I will not count them to be serious. Sikina.

Very true. its sad the process is just too cumbersome such that at the end of the day one is very happy (but sad) to part away with whatever percentage just to let church close ...so to speak. Many potential companies remain in the briefcase because of the stress involved setting up one and registering same. Must be the same issue PayPal is facing that has lead to their not being able to allow Nigerians receive payments through them locally.

These ones are even recruiting, we should thank God. The past administration was thinking of austerity measures, downsizing and doubling tax. We both remember that they were borrowing to pay salaries and given the PhD Okonjo-Iweala headaches. Show some gratitude.

http://www.bellanaija.com/2015/05/ngozi-okonjo-iweala-reportedly-says-managing-nigerias-economy-gives-her-high-blood-pressure/

"70 per cent of my staff have high blood pressure. This goes to show the amount of stress we go through. All three of us here (referring to herself, Minister of State, Bashir Yuguda; and Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Anastasia Daniel-Nwaobia ) have high blood pressure.

Minister of State has High BP and you are on medication. Perm Sec has and I have. The amount of stress in the ministry is unbelievable. Many times we are in the office until 1 am, looking for ways, we want to push out money to make payment. Many people don’t know this.

We now have a clinic so that people can go and check quickly up when they start having headache before someone collapses."

Those are Okonjo-Iweala's words on marble. Please think and be grateful this people are even employing.

You can be grateful that a so-called man of integrity who has been at the highest levels of governance in our country since the 70s makes voluntary promises and is unable to keep them.
Your choice!
Not mine!!!

A government that is yet to spend 1year in power and yet to implement its own budget cannot reasonably be said to have failed. The past government was given its failure report card during the time of elections. Exercise some patience until such election times come before we mark scripts. A sensible teacher does not grade students who have just been 30minutes into a 2hr exam. Marking and grading is done at the end.
