You have nothing to lose asking for a remark.

Mama the mama. You are on all the migration fora that matter. Madam told me you be Filipino now sef.

Prettysussie should ask for remark jor. She has nothing to lose. My wife's request to remark her writing came back successful. 6.5 was bumped to 7. Mine however was left at 6.5 I guess due largely to my very poor and lazy handwriting.

Enquiry On Result: If you are not happy with your ielts score, you can apply for an Enquiry on Results Service (eor) through the ielts Administrator at the British Council centre where you sat for your exam. The cost for Standard ielts remark is NGN15,000 payable by Banker's draft addressed to British Council. You will also need to fill the eor form at British Council's office and submit your original Test Report Form. This procedure takes six to eight weeks from the date your scripts are received by the Senior Examiners in the UK. Giving consideration to the travel time to and from the UK, it may take ten weeks from the date of your payment for the Enquiry on Result service.
https://www.britishcouncil.org.ng/exam/ielts/results

If you want someone to do it on your behalf, you need to write an authorization letter stating who will be collecting the result on your behalf. The person should go along with your copy of international passport data page and the person needs to go with his too (I think any statutory ID will do).

You need to also raise a bank draft of N15,000 in favour of British Council.

Once at BC, the person would be given the result upon presentation of the letter, person’s ID and yours.

He should proceed to ask for EOR, he would be given a form, then asked to hand over the result and the bank draft.

For 2.1, if the company you work has been paying your tax, you can request for your tax certificate or tax card. These are normally given. You can use pension statement for 2.2. You need to make sure either the tax or pension statement cover the period of employment being claimed.

You only need 3 if the experience you are claiming is outside your country of residence. WP or RP is a must if you work in a foreign country. 3.2 also refer to your employment letter and details therein.

Hello House,

I have been following this thread for about 3 months now, and I would like to appreciate everyone here, it has been so informative and helpful.

To Bellong, azy123, misoke and acs gurus in the house, my case is as stated below and I would appreciate your candid advice.

Qualification: B Sc Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science Option) From University of Agriculture - 2005
Occupation: Analyst Programmer (261311)
Post NYSC Experience:
1. April 2007 - June 2008 ( 1 Yr 2 Months)
2. July 2008 - April 2012 ( 3 Yrs 10 Months)
3. May 2012 - Date (5 Yrs 5 Months)
Total: 10 Yrs 5 Months

Certifications:
1. Microsoft Certified IT Professional (August 2010)
2. Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (August 2010)

ACS Assessment - 23rd October 2017 and got the result as stated below;

Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 261311 (Analyst Programmer) of the ANZSCO Code.

Your qualifications have been assessed as follows:
Your Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science Option) from University of Agriculture completed September 2005 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Associate Degree with a Major in computing.
Your Microsoft Certified IT Professional from Microsoft completed August 2010 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a Major in computing.
Your Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist from Microsoft completed August 2010 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a Major in computing.

The following employment after November 2012 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 261311 (Analyst Programmer) of the ANZSCO Code.

NOTE:
1. I have some professional experience during school as I was working on part-time and full time on holidays (as a freelance Programmer) from February 2002 - December 2004 (2 Yr 11 Months)
2. I have post qualification experience from May 2005 - March 2006 right from when I finished from school while waiting for service and during service that I did not submit for the assessment (10 Months)
Both Experiences stated above is from the same company and I can get reference letter.

Since I can't get 15 points for Degree, is there a way I can get 15 points for experience. I was just thinking of review and adding the experience that I left out and probably remove the B Sc and use Microsoft certification as the qualification which would equally give 10 Points

Total Experience would be: 2 Yr 11 Months + 10 Months + 1 Yr 2 Months + 3 Yrs 10 Months + 5 Yrs 7 Months = 14 Yrs 4 Months

@scalard

I guess ur degree is 4years from a tier 2 uni.

My advice, review with d employment you left out.

Dont remove the bsc 2005 is better than 2010.

ACS will take 5to6yrs from ur exp for associate degree, hence the skilled date of 2012.

If you add the 2yrs plus left out, new skilled date would be 2010 if the month is first half them you can have 8yrs by early 2018.

Just frm my own lil exp but wait for Oga Alphador.

Hello Scarlar D

Good to finally see someone from the same University. I studied Mathematical Science (Computer Option) 2008 as well and I accessed as System Analyst.

That was the same outcome I got, I have my grant already tho (although it’s 489 because of the competitiveness of IT skills esp Systems and Business Analyst).

I think our uni falls under tier2 category that is why we got Associate Degree.

Also because of the “mathematical” part in it I think ACS deducted 3 years from mine. ACS will only acknowledge experience after the completion of a degree so the part time work you did might not count.

You can try and review tho (I did that but got the same outcome).
But to increase your work experience, you can add the one you did after school but I don’t think it will amount to 8years or more.

You breakdown has clearly shown that you be Mathematicians.
And you have actually figured out what to do.
No need to remove the Bsc, just introduce the additional years.
However it appears one of your previous employment was not considered.
I just PM'd u for further explanation.

Alphadoor already answered your question.

A review would be in your favor.

Add the pre-qualification experience but make sure you state the number of hours which must be greater than 20 hours per week. and the post qualification exp you left out can be added as well.

Your Bsc. should be included since it is earlier than the Microsoft certification.

So...

Bsc Assessed as Associate degree with major in computing, lets assume its NOT closely related to nominated occupation - 6 years would be deducted.

14 - 6 = 8 years

You will be able to claim 8 years of experience when they deduct 6 years and that's 15 points.

cheers.

Hello Scarlar D

. ACS will only acknowledge experience after the completion of a degree so the part time work you did might not count.

The bolded isn't true..work experience before degree is counted as long as the part time work is more than 20hours per week..this was the assumption I had too until @alphadoor broke it down for me and I went back to their site to read up on it.

Example.
If your degree is Aqf, ICT major and closely related -acs will deduct 5 years.
Now if u have 3 years experience pre- degree, they'd only deduct 2 years post degree experience because the 3years before your degree is counted.

If you had 7 years post degree, and they are meant to deduct 6 years- let's say because your degree is Aqf, ICT major and NOT closely related.
they'd take out the needed 6 years from the pre-degree experience, go to the date you got ur degree and start counting your years of experience from the first date you started working immediately after ur degree.
Basically, you have met the experience requirement before u got a degree but they'd wait for u to meet the degree requirement too and start counting from there..

In this scenario, the remaining one year experience before your degree doesn't count.

This is because, ACS starts counting your years of experience from the day you got both ur degree and the day your years of experience they need to remove (6years in this case) is completed.

So even tho u have passed that 6 years before u got ur degree, they have to wait till the degree is gotten to start counting.

Long story short, if you are accessing with ACS and u have experience before degree, as long as u can get the company to write u a reference letter, add it. Let those part time work and nysc work experience be what they'd deduct for you to meet their requirements.

Amen?

I must say this, I do follow threads on this forum, But this where people are really like One Family, Everyone is willing to help another brother achieve his dream in anyway, or by any means at their disposal.

To Oga himself @Bellog, the Grand Father ACS @Alphadoor, the ACS Gurus @Azy123, @Misoke and the Generals , @Tuteso, @hollie2605, @trastar, #ABIGTHANKYOU#. I have a better understanding on what to do, by God's Grace my next post will be a testimony.

Good day nairalanders,
I had read the first and the last 10pages of this thread for days now. I will like to ask few questions because I have registered with vetassess and I am getting my documents together as well. These are questions :
1) is there any point to get after skill assessment?
2) how possible is it to get ITA as quality assurance inspector with 65 points through 489?
3) does Tasmania request for POF? although I didn't see that on their website
4) what will vetassess assess OND & HND as?
Please gurus in this thread should wade in. Thanks
