The double is a bet where two selections are
made and if the first wins, everything that
would have been returned is then used as
stake for second. This style of bet is popular
because it creates the potential for larger
returns but at the expense of increased risk
as all it takes is one losing selection for the
bet to return nothing. Similar to the treble
and accumulator the only difference being a
lower number of selections. Each way and to-
place only options are also available at some
bookmakers.
Popular in all sports especially football and
horse racing, all bets in a double must be on
separate events.

Once familiar with the examples, use the
double calculator to quickly work out
winnings. The accumulator calculator can also
be used to experiment with more than 2
selections.
The football scores in the table below are used
to demonstrate winnings and losing example
bets:
Home Team Score Away Team
Sunderland 3 - 1 Fulham
QPR 4 - 2 Chelsea
Winning
Assuming a unit stake of £5 on Sunderland to
win at odds 2/1 and QPR to win at odds of 3/1
the winnings would break down as follows:
Returns = £5 * (2/1 + 1) * (3/1 + 1) = £60
Profit = Returns - Stake = £55
Losing
Assuming a unit stake of £5 on Sunderland to
win at odds 2/1 and Chelsea to win at odds of
4/1 the returns would break down as follows:
The bet of Reading to win has lost,
therefore this bet returns £0
Profit/Loss = Returns - Stake = -£5

Bros, I still don't get it. What a friend told me is that when you perm a booking constisting of two or more games eg 10 games as DOUBLE, if two matches won out of the 10matches your ticket wins and you will be paid for the equivalent winnings for that two matches. If your ticket wins more than the two matches your winnings increases. No more complaining that I got 9games and 1game cut my ticket.

If you play doubles on a ticket of 5 selections.
Now some things are necessary for a stake return or win.

Odds
Number of selection
Number of wins in your selection

If the selections are of these odd
1.3
1.5
1.4
1.6
1.4

For you to get atleast your stake back, you must win atleast 2 from the 5 selections, but the odds of the selections you win determines your return.

What you need to know about punting...

1. The bookies are business men

2. You need to see punting as a business not as a get rich quick scheme.

3. Every bookmaker is out there to rip your pocket ' take it or leave it'

4. You cannot always win.

5. You can always withdraw.

There is a clear difference in statement 5 & 6. So just because you lost doesn't mean you can't always be in profit and of course withdraw your share of the bookies cake.

6. Never borrow money to punt,most especially if you are the lazy type. Who borrows money for a business and sleeps sef?

7. Only stake what you can afford to lose.
