Isn't it better to airlift the bike and cars than to buy a brandnew one at an exhorbitant price. If u think they gonna get it cheap, ask how much they bought the suv's given to the senators. So I don't think it's bad airlifting the vehicles n whereas the plane is also built for such. (why fly an empty army cargo plane only to get to their destination to be given new cars n yes bought wit tax payers money?

It is not embezzlement if it being used for official duty but it is wasteful. Are they saying that there are no other air force vehicles where they are going? The cost of maintenance on the air craft alone does not make it cost effective. The only reason they did this is because Nigeria does not have a maintenance culture.

That is the C-130 for your information American still uses that plane to carry military equipment. That plane in the pic was from the 1998 version a newer version went into service in 2013. Very reliable plane similar to to a bigger version C135 "Hercules". Can take off and land within a shorter distance.

My brother don't mind that mumu. Air Force one is escorted by at least 6 F-16 Falcon jets. How much does that cost? Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar has paid his dues. Is it easy to attend NDA, go to ECOMOG and finally rise to become Chief of Air Staff in a career spanning more than 30 years? He has paid his dues. Anyone who wants to become a CoAS can as well join NDA and hope he does not get shot down in combat to survive up until this point.

I appreciate the Chief of Air Staff's sacrifice and military service to Nigeria. But that doesn't mean that a C-130 should be used to transport his car and motorcycle.

The C-130 should be used for transporting troops, troop supplies, and possibly presidential vehicles. In the US, no member of the Joint Chiefs is allowed to use military planes to transport personal property; that perk is reserved for the president.
