The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Monday inaugurated the distribution of 60 units of electricity transformers to communities in his senatorial district in Kaduna State.
Mr. Sani, who is also the Senate Committee Chairman, Foreign Loans/ Debts, also announced the distribution of 250 solar panels to over 100 communities.
Speaking at the presentation in Kaduna, Mr. Sani said he believed power should be accessible and affordable to the poor as it is to the rich.
“I am committed to facilitating the provision of power to our urban and remote communities in the district I represent.”
Mr. Sani said the intervention was to empower the poor by boosting small and medium businesses.
He said the solar panels would be installed in public facilities including hospitals and worship centres to facilitate their activities.
According to the Senator, the solar power project is in line with his vision to promote the use of alternative energy that are cleaner and safer.
He said that he would use “all legal means to make sure this is subsidised to the barest minimum, even in the area of importation of solar panels and other equipment that cannot be manufactured locally.


“This will support independent investors and individuals who have interest in the energy source and further development of Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone.”
Mr. Sani, however, said “the maintenance of this infrastructure, when installed, will be the responsibility of every member of the community.”

The funny but the bitter truth is what has Twitter Senator has been doing to better the life of the people of his constituency and bayelsa state at large in their hard time, instead of him disturbing the peace we enjoy here on social media with his common sense brawl, why can't him channel the same energy to find a lasting solution to the current zero economic activities bedevilling his state.

It is no news that as we speak Bayelsa state is dead economically as there is close yo zero economical activities going on there, the state government owns more than 4 months salaries, without him the twitter senator showing any sign of concerns to his people's sufferings but can rush to donate his wardrobe allowance to osun state workers when osun state government was unable to pay their workers salaries which was a good gesture then, (sarcastic) but the bitter question is what stop him from doing the same thing by donating his life savings to help his people in their pressing time?
