710 Nigerians Killed By Fulani Herdsmen In 10 Months —igbo Youth Movement by rozayx5(m): 9:23am On Apr 27, 2016
ENUGU—The Igbo Youths Movement, IYM, has lamented that Fulani herdsmen have killed 710 other Nigerians excluding the 48 Agatu people in Benue State in the last 10 months without the Federal Government addressing the issue.

IYM made this known while reacting to the Monday’s killing of about 40 indigenes of Nimbo in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State by Fulani herdsmen last night.

The statement signed by the Founder of the IYM and Leader of the South East Democratic Coalition, Evangelist Elliot Uko, entitled, ‘Ten Months of Carnage,’ read: “Between June 2015 and April 2016, Fulani herdsmen have killed over 710 Nigerians (excluding Agatu incident) in 48 recorded incidents, the highest in recent years.

“For the first time, the nation’s Department of State Services, DSS, only interest in these avoidable blood baths, seems only to accuse one organization of killing five Fulani. That accusation is yet to be substantiated with photographs or at least a DSS invitation to media people to the graves in order to corroborate their allegations.

“Monday morning, seven communities in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State received it hot, as usual from the rampaging Fulani warriors. Two churches, over 100 houses, dozens dead and hundreds injured with many still missing.

“Nigerians do not expect any positive reaction from the Federal Government and the DSS, for obvious reasons. This bloodletting which began since the new government took over power is interestingly redefining how much faith, large sections of Nigeria should have in the ability or willingness of the Federal Government to protect them from this Fulani warriors, who clearly act as if they know that the Federal Government cannot (or is it, will not) save the helpless victims from their attacks.

“But above all, the ongoing war by the Fulani herdsmen, have only confirmed Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, a prophet and visionary, who saw tomorrow. Mazi Kanu correctly predicted over the radio, what the Fulani would do to the Middle Belt, South East, South- South and the South West.

“The serial slaughter by the Fulani, the intimidation by the security agents and the disturbing silence of the President, who incidentally is also Fulani and life Patron of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, has put Mazi Kanu in the league of avatars, who correctly predicted events before they happened.

“This development has also greatly increased Kanu’s popularity, especially among the oppressed, suppressed and consistently attacked populations, who now see him as a hero and a legend. This has resulted in a huge sympathy towards the gospel of IPOB and its leader.”

Southern govs, monarchs must meet immediately—Ikokwu

Second Republic politician and lawyer, Chief Guy Ikokwu, said the unceasing slaughtering of people by the Fulani herdsmen in most parts of the South demands immediate meeting of the 17 governors of the South and traditional rulers.

His words: ‘’The governors of the southern states must meet immediately with their traditional rulers to discuss the issues affecting the area. Northern governors have been meeting. Southern governors must take a cue. The ethnic organisations of the Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo, Efik, like Ohanaeze, Afenifere, among others, must meet and take a common position on the issue.”

Even though i support the call to defend the lives of innocent lives from these barbarians
but the truth remains the southern region is not united, the last election even divided us further along religion and ethnic lines
Igbo youth movement are now calling on yorubas when they know the problem has finally overwhelmed them
the same yorubas nnamdi the kunu promised to kill
i can count the number of thread created by tribal dogs when the mile12 crises occured
everybody should hold their gates
the latest event have shown the world who the really cow-wards are
chestbeating and ultimatums dont scare gun wielding herdsmen

sometimes ago, i remember how some
people from certain region always
found joy in any news from the
northeast regarding bokoharam attack
on innocent citizens. all this was just to
score cheap point in order to have
reasons to discredit the present
government. you will see them in
celebrating mood as if human lives
means nothing to them without putting
themselves in other’s shoe. even the
recent killing in agatu, we heard them
call the agatus cowards and different
unprintable names with questions like
why did they vote this administration?
so they deserves what they are
experiencing.
now the table has turned around where
the deer chases the dog, and the dog
chases the hunter. the monstrous
.fulani herdsmen has started their
rampage in southeast especially the
recent occurrence in enugu.though this
act is very barbaric where they
slaughter human like goat after raping
their women and then destroy their
properties. only a heartless human
being will derive joy in hearing such
news. my brothers from the region
have started calling for help from left,
right and centre, calling for the unity of
other southern brothers and
government aid. even though we saw
their mood during the mile12 clash
between Hausas and Yoruba traders
where some humorously said it a fight
of buhari and osinbajo’s boy.
my question is how ll you feel now
when others celebrate with your
predicament? should we pray for more
so we can condemn the government?
when fire is razing down your
neighbour’s house, it is your
responsibility to put it off. ifnot your
house ll not be spared and it might be
the next.

Time for communities down south to arm themselves and ward off these terrorists by any means possible. I pity those who keep politicising every problem in Nigeria by claiming this is happening because of Buhari, we never seem to learn from the past. Once a problem is turned to politics, it becomes too difficult to solve; the bokoharam menace is a fresh example of why we shouldn't politicise humanitarian problems. The moment bokoharam was turned to a PDP vs APC issue, it began to fester.

Fulani herdsmen issue is an age long problem, affecting mainly the middle-belt. That it is now more publicised today because of politics and because it has hit some more southern locations, this does not mean it started today. Politicising this situation, just like bokoharam crisis will only make it worse.

Mathematically,

10 months = 710

and a 4year tenure is 48 months,

48 months = 3, 408 shocked shocked shocked

So sad............APC...Always Punishing Citizens

Action speaks louder than voice. arm yourself to defend yourself & your territory. Nigerian Army & NPF supports the fulani terrorist by providing them with arms & protection against revenge from their victims. Strangers can never know the nooks & crannies of your territories than you do. Shame on ND Militants if they cant provide security for their people that they claim to fight for. Nonsense!

Buhari seems to be following the footsteps of Jonathan in being absolutely useless in combating insecurity in Nigeria. Leaders are mostly judged by their actions or lack of in defining moments. No subsequent actions or policy will make up for this inaction especially in the face of so much outcry.

Kid, a strong man sheds tears due to the pain of holding back retaliation. The Igbos, with the civil war experience, won't take one week to obliterate a minor phulany tribe. We're sane, they are not. We're strong, they are not. The only leverage they have is their migratory way of life. They can easily lead their herds into the deep forest and keep them there, away from attack, then come back to villages where there are old people and few youth. The farmers have nowhere to move their farmlands and their crops to. When these lanky terrorists attack these farmers and villagers with their dane guns, the farmers are dilemmic, should they abandon their farmlands and crops worth millions of naira and flee? Or stay and defend their lands and crops unarmed? Sadly, they opt for the latter and end up losing their lives.

Since Buhari is alluding the herdsmen's attacks on innocent people are not his business, we'll make it our business to end these attacks the way we know best.

.....The best way to fight bad is with EVIL.

This is outrageous and unacceptable. They are purposely creating a War. Hausa security agents are backing the Herdsmen.
This is not an Enugu problem we have to stand with our neighbor's they are armed and coming.

This is part of the silent coup, part of Nigera breaking into War as the West wants. The War College Grad is now reactivated for Nigerians economic hit.

How long will the youth let these devils shape dey destiny?

Who did the counting- IYM

Those saying this is happening "because their kinsman is the president", I ask; when we saw the worst of this, especially in the Middle Belt (specifically Taraba, Jos and Benue states) under Jonathan, were Ijaws the people carrying out the carnage?? Perhaps, Jonathan was a Fulani man and turned Ijaw after he was shown the way out.

If you wanna criticise the president for not being "decisive" please be my guest, but don't assume it is happening because Buhari and the "suspected" villains are of the same tribe.

Politicising this would only make one unsympathetic to the victims. What is wrong is wrong and what happened is wrong and unfortunate.
