University of Ibadan locked down as a result of the conflict between Students' Union and Authority over Victimization of peaceful student protesters.

A student popularly known as Mote was rusticated for embarking on a peaceful protest in demand for constant power and water supply.

The students decided to boycott lectures until Mote's rustication is reversed.

The Vice Chancellor of the University announced the University closed till further notice yesterday with a 2 Hours Ultimatum of evacuation of students from the campus.

Students defy the VC's order of immediate evacuation as protests continued today.

Management threatening to use military force to evacuate students.

Management threatens to expel students who fail to leave the campus

Students occupy the main gate of the campus, promise to fight to finish

Students cook food on the street, brings in DJ to ginger protests with music as occupation continues

Students create social media hash tags: ‪#‎FreeMote‬, ‪#‎iStandwithMote‬, ‪#‎IamMote‬, ‪#‎WeAreMote‬

and you are not ashamed? and you know that this pictures are traceable while the people in it are liable to expulsion that will not be done now?

meanwhile why are you fighting over a student given a semester suspension for glaringly committing an offence? It shows your level of reasoning is suspect.... and that the Ibadan quota system of admission needs to be jettisoned to allow serious minded students in. Even FGN should turn UI to 95% PG school. It is not designed for miscreants.

Ui needs more of calm students ...big headed fools are now in Ui..always causing trouble .dats y Ui can never really achieve what it deserves..it students lack coolheadedness..one thing is sure...all d best students I know in Ui do not give a bleep about mote!
