Nice contribution my friend. Many people lost their life becouse of small amount of deposit at hospital, also Nigerian doctors never ever value human life. Its was a lesson sha. RIP to the dead ones.

and next time you're traveling, you should also ensure you have money to pay for your medical bill in your pocket just in case you're involved in an accident.

In the same line of thinking, when fulani herdsmen attack your location, don't depend on the police to offer security.

You now understand why your reasoning was flawed

If you need further proof of the benevolence of the police, read below.

A Lagos-based lawyer, Olajide Sipe, is in a critical condition at a private hospital after he was tortured and shot at by some soldiers on the 7th Avenue, FESTAC Town, Lagos State.
It was learnt that the officers were deployed in the community to guard the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation pipelines.
They were, however, said to have left their duty post for the Mobil Filling Station on 23 Road to coordinate motorists queueing for fuel on Tuesday.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim was driving home in his Toyota Camry when he was held by a gridlock on the road.
The soldiers were reported to have stopped a bus on the the road.
Olajide was said to have advised one of the officers to park the bus by the roadside to free up the gridlock they created.
As he drove off, the soldiers reportedly mounted a motorcycle and began to chase him. It was said that they shot at him, but the bullets hit the car’s back tyres.
They were said to have waylaid him on 72 Road, where they tortured him, rendering him unconscious.
Narrating his ordeal to PUNCH Metro, Olajide, who is married with a child, said his only mistake was that he advised the soldiers.
He said, “I went to buy bottles of water for my family and on my way back, I got to Mobil Filling Station and I discovered there was traffic, which was caused by a bus on the road.
“A solider stood in front of the bus and was telling the driver something. I was in my car when I advised him that he could have asked the driver to park by the roadside, instead of inconveniencing other road users.
“He asked who I was to advise him. I told him I was only trying to give a solution, but he started drawing closer to me with his gun. I was alarmed.
“Another officer stood at the front of my car and started kicking one of its headlights. He had a jerrycan in his hand with which he smashed my windscreen. As I drove off, I saw that they had become four and had mounted a motorcycle and were chasing me. I was afraid.
“When I got to 7th Avenue, I made a U-turn, but because they were coming with speed, they couldn’t do that. I looked back and saw one of the soldiers, kneeling down and aiming his gun at me. He shot at my car twice. The bullets deflated the two back tyres.”
He said he pulled up and came down to pacify them, adding that the men pounced on him.
A witness, who did not identify himself for security reason, said the officers would have killed the Ogun State indigene but for the intervention of a senior military officer.
He said, “What caught people’s attention were the gunshots. They used planks to hit his head and one of them carried a big stone to smash his skull.
“He was stabbed two times in the body. One of them wanted to use a dagger to cut him when a military officer, who was passing by, intervened. He showed them his ID card and that was when they left him. As they were going, they vandalised his car.”
It was learnt that residents, who knew the victim, rushed him to the Mercy Gate Hospital, a private medical facility in the area.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Solomon Ekundayo, said the victim sustained serious injuries.
He said, “When he was brought in, he was in a bad state; he had lacerations in the head, including one that was very deep. He was also traumatised, while his face was drenched in blood.
“We had to admit him and do everything possible to stabilise him and suture the lacerations. We will still need to investigate and ascertain the state of his internal organs. Injuries like this can affect the liver and other organs of the body and even the brain. We also plan to do a CT scan of the brain to find out the extent of the injuries to his brain.”
Our correspondent gathered that the victim, who initially lost consciousness, later gave the contact of his family members.
The case was said to have been reported at the FESTAC Police Division.
A family member, Bunmi, asked the government to give justice to his brother, saying the officers should be fished out and punished.
He said, “Those officers wanted to kill him. They were posted to the 7th Avenue to check activities of pipeline vandals; they had no business at any filling station. We want them fished out for punishment.
“We also want the military authorities to clear my brother’s medical bills, repair his car and compensate him. The case should not be swept under the carpet.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding that the police had started investigations.
She said, “We got a report that one Olajde Sipe, who lives in FESTAC Town, was attacked by four unidentified men in army uniform on 72 Road, FESTAC Town. Efforts are ongoing to trace the alleged soldiers.”
Our correspondent gathered that a lieutenant, identified as A.I. Sadi, denied that the officers were the ones guarding pipelines in the community.
A source said, “But, we think he was trying to cover up for them because they were on illegal duty. The victim said he can recognise at least two of them.”
The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Kingsley Samuel, said the army had got in touch with the victim and was making efforts to apprehend the culprits.
He said, “We are in touch with the victim and he has given us the details of what happened. We have started our investigations and will ensure that the culprits are punished. Nobody is above the law.

Somewhere along the line, we the youths, the young ones would have to stand up and make these people accountable, failing to do so will have us in this cycle, there is nothing stopping these people from lying, covering for themselves, extorting and more, just like there is nothing stopping a yahoo boy from continue in that line of business as he know the system is corrupt, and we have no one or system to hold people accountable or make them fear, nothing and worst is we the masses (millions of individuals) only know best to criticize and insult, let's all come together and show we have the numbers, create a platform, a hashtag, anything that can be used by anyone to get all these people accountable, police lie alot, FRSC, Lastma, all these people everyday they lie just to get their way and get their job done and get free money in the process..

The harsh reality is that most times government logistic vehicles do not get enough funding for fueling and other maintenance services. This could explain why the doctors provided cash for fuelling.

People are rightly descending on the Police because
1) It is thoroughly in keeping with past antecedents of the Nigerian Police, where even bribes are often sought before response to armed robbery attacks

2) it is also not plausible that a vehicle containing senior medical doctors would be over-speeding seriously without the medical doctors - who know all too well the dangers of over-speeding - calling him to order

i think now we can see the root cause of your beef.
There is a big difference. Doctors usually aren't the owners of the hospitals, and the hospital proprietors often mandate payment for all services. While it is tragic in many cases, there are innumerable cases of patients being treated and failing to pay, ensuring severe sanctions on the doctor who himself has mouths to feed. You should devote your energies to push for a more widespread health insurance program in Nigeria so people are treated.

On the other hand, it is the duty of Police to carry those people. The vehicles, fuel and time of the police officers are already being paid for by Nigerian taxpayers. It is a DUTY for Police to carry survivors without any payment or bribe. No contest

When i say the problem with Nigeria is majorly Nigerians, some people would want to throw me stones, now thanks bro for even attempting to educate this low iqed individual, most Nigerians are gullible thinkers that's why one minute they are want Jonathan, the next is Buhari, the next moment they are insulting him and throwing stones at him, the average person can't reason well, you blame doctors for demanding for payment 1st, that alone has told me all about you, no need to argue or try to explain things to you.. pete pls save your time for more time saving arguments, Nigerians don't really know what they want and that's a fact.

Look, this is the pattern in Nigeria
The police patrol team is usually not given money for fuel for patrol, they hussle the money for fueling.
The money for fueling patrol team is budgeted for but never gets to the DPO.
The DPO can not complain because if he does there is sombody ready to take over his post, without asking for the money.
The cycle continues.

The doctor insisted the accident wasn't caused by overspeeding, can he tell us what caused it? I ply this road every week and I'm telling you accident can only occur there due to overspeeding as it is a dualized road from abuja to kano.
I have also plied that road more times than I can count and I can categorically and correctly state that a lot of accidents occur on that road that have nothing to do with over-speeding. probably you didn't take note of where the doctor said the vehicle is equipped with a speed sensing device and they usual are in control of the driver. the accident was caused by a blown tire and because of the centre of gravity of buses, even at 100km/hr a blown tire can trigger a roll over.

My brother, this one is good because they decided to help with for a fee. What about those innocent people travelling with a lot of cash and when the police stops to search their car discover the money, the police just shoots you dead collect your money and disappear. Any passer by will think you were attacked by an armed robber.

THE POLICE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND O. WHEN YOU SEE THEM RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

even in death Fadelex still beef doctors. He was so sure the accident was caused by over speeding, FRSC got there 40 minute later may He was there when it happened to be so affirmative about it.
he likened Doctor to police , please go and study medicine and start your free services, if government appropriately fund the hospitals, this wouldn't be issue but when hospital policy state payment before service I don't think any doctor should be blame for not paying with his money or risk his job for that . I'm yet to hear of policies in police department that says victims must pay before been offered services . we all know they wanted something for weekend.
I hope we all could always see clearly rather than putting sentiments in all issues. making u to be affirmative against eyewitnesses account when you are not even close to the place when it happened
