By Soni Daniel, Northern Region Editor

President Muhammadu Buhari is warming up to receive a reworked copy of the 2016 budget any time this week from the National Assembly following the belated agreement by the lawmakers to remove most of the unbudgeted items they introduced into the fiscal document for pecuniary gains. Reliable sources close to the NASS told Vanguard that the lawmakers had realised that it was wrong for them to have usurped the functions of the Executive by introducing items not contemplated by the Presidency into the budget and illegally transferring capital votes to such items.

Nigeria is a wonder land. Even if care is not taken these thieves called senators may put their personal needs in the budget. I don't blame them, imagine how the citizens are even pained that looters of our resources are being prosecuted.

Padding the budget means making the budget proposal larger than the actual estimates for the project.

Hope you understand now

I have concluded that the most corrupt arm of government is the legislature.

Overinflated salaries

Buying themselves landcruisers after being paid transportation allowance

Nobody knows what they do with their constituency allowance

They only meet 2-3 days a week for half of the year and collect a full-year's salary

Some of them do not contribute to the discussion on the floor. Few of them will be sleeping while getting paid

At night when they should be sleeping, they will pack oloshos and full NICON hotel in Garki Area 1

Even when there are important bills like increasing punishment for corrupt public officials, they will frustrate it. Ask them to pass a law allowing 70 year old men to marry 10 year old girls now, they will be shouting 'Aye'

Let them continue. I am working on a plan to begin massive recall of senators wey dey f.uc.k up. It will be unveiled in due time

You hypocrites have shot yourselves in the legs several times I just imagine which Othopaedic doc can fix it. Did you not say you were bringing change? Why copy the bad practices of the old order?
I hope you can agree with me that the only change Apc brought is the changing of the real meaning of the word change.

When it suits your purpose, vanguard becomes a credible source, when it does not it becomes an IPOD mouth source
This budget issue should be over already so that boys can recover the money spent in installing the durllard in aso rock. angry
