Something is just fishy. Why wait till the PFP started before placing a ban on sport betting?

I remeber you did once and later lifted it. Your reason(s) for lifting it was not stated. Lemme guess, "Promises".

One thing i have come to conclude about people @ the very top of finance is that they always want more. I hope this ban is not a proof of selfishness.

Should you ban on sport betting honestly be for the good of Nairalanders, i say "Thank You" for doing the needful.

You could give us a list of genuine online business. Drive us to the right direction.

Talk-naira
will be another good platform for the PFP to continue.

Happy Sunday

Mr Seun. Please note that banning them here will have little or no effect. People will just move on to other sites and you discover that their audiences will follow them there. If you want to help Nigerians let there be gradual reorientation of people through education here. Since these things are not illegal!no one can call them bad entirely. I have many friends who have made good money from forex and binary options! And there are many nigerians still doing same with greate success.

FOREX TRADE is one legitimate biz online.

What you see is people not getting proper orientation on the trade and if they even do GREED will not allow then do the right thing. Forex as well as sport betting are so legal but it depend on how individualS go about it.

My advice dont ban any, try and as questions why many people loss is FX, the simple answer is GREED. You expect to use your 100 usd to make 1000 usd in a day or week then FX is not for you.

There are so many sites that support FX, like me i get 70% jobs on FX from upworks.com an American site, YOU see site like cleofinance.com who paid traders for pips made so people live and still living thru FX.

DONT BAN IT. JUST ASK QUESTIONS.

This is a serious Issue but these areas should rather be checked not given a ban overnight.

I totally agree to your ban on sport betting or any form of betting. But why forex? Forex trading is not illegal. Yes it's a high risk investments but that shouldn't be a reason to ban it. There is no form of business you can think of that doesn't have associated risk.
Kindly review this.

Dear Nairalanders,

We are thinking of completely banning the promotion of forex trading and sports betting on Nairaland.

Forex day-trading and sports betting are fundamentally fraudulent because they're promoted as a quick way of making money whereas due to mathematical facts, the only people who make money are the middlemen and marketers. The "investors" almost always lose their money.

In our experience, it's not enough to warn Nairaland members about the dangers of forex day-trading and sports betting. The promise of quick profit is just too strong for thousands of vulnerable Nairaland members to resist. The only way to protect them is complete censorship.

We believe that the complete ban of such content will make Nairaland a better platform for discussing legitimate entrepreneurship and finance.

What do you think? Please click 'like' if you like the idea; thanks.

I want to use this opportunity to make a request. Sent a mail to the mods of the crime section but they didn't respond.
I believe a stolen cars thread in the crime section would be appreciated by fellow nairalanders.
A lot of Nigerians have had their automobiles stolen from them. While some totally lose hope, some summon a search with the help of the police, while there are others who come here, recognizing the power of this forum, and create a thread about their stolen vehicles.
A single thread, like those found in the gaming section, containing vital information on the stolen automobile could prove helpful to the victim, and in the long run, make this forum a vital source of information for the country's security operatives.
I do hope you consider this request.

Don't ban it. Nairaland is a forum for Nigerians. I think anything should be discussed apart from pornograhy.
