Enumerated below are 3 other Nigerian food Nutrients that help to fight

diabetes :

4.Chromium

Chromium is another food nutrient that helps the body do a better job

without side effects, and it is 100% natural.

Recent studies have shown that a chromium supplement helps improve

insulin performance in people with diabetes or whose immune system

are now insulin resistance.

However, chromium is not produced in our body system, so it has to be

taken from foods that contain it. Two good examples of foods rich in chromium

Grape Fruit and Onion.

6. Alpha Lipoic Acid

It amplifies antioxidants-those free radical fighters that help keep insulin

receptors intact, amongst other things.

It also teams with the vitamin family to support energy production by

burning any trace of blood sugar/glucose found in the bloodstream.

It also supports sensitivity to insulin and can help reduce nerve pain

caused by diabetes. Alpha Lipoic Acid can be found in Broccoli and

most water plants but not in a ready form to penetrate the bloodstream

That is why they can be found in liquid supplement form which are not

bound and can easily enter the plasma where it is distributed widely

through the body.

7. Vanadium

Found in cabbages and sunflower seeds. Vanadium mimics insulin

and can increase blood sugar uptake by the body's cells - turning

that blood sugar into energy that your body needs.

This means the lower your sugar levels in the blood and possibly in the

liver, the healthier you would feel.

This food nutrient, being a metal, is available as a supplement and should

be taken in small amounts, but it has the potential for helping to restore

normal blood sugar levels when used appropriately.

I have revealed 7 food nutrients you can find in Nigerian foods, and the

various ways they can help in controlling your blood sugar level.

At this stage, you might think of getting the foods containing these

nutrients, as a part of your daily dietary needs.

But you and I know that, it would be time consuming getting all these

foods one by one and preserving them.

But here is the good news: all these food nutrients are found in the required

quantity and quality in our All Natural ?

Nutritional healing is now becoming popular though it is gradual but it

is the best because when we eat right our body vital organs are

energized to naturally fight diseases. Here a few Nigerian food Nutrients

that help to fight diabetes:

1. Zinc

Zinc, which can be found in seafoods like crabs(picture below)

and oysters, is needed to manufacture, secrete and extend the

use of insulin in your body. Without it, your pancreas would not

be able to create insulin needed.

While having too much of insulin can be a bad sign, the ability

to maintain healthy amounts of insulin production is essential in

controlling your blood sugar level.

And that is another job for zinc. It not only creates enough insulin,

but also regulates insulin production so that it does not get out of

control.

As if that weren’t enough, yet another reason to love zinc is that it

can be helpful for diabetes care. Zinc is highly concentrated in the

islet cells of the pancreas, where insulin is produced. Zinc promotes

healthy insulin function, can provide natural blood sugar control,

and might even help to prevent diabetes in the first place.

The zinc-insulin connection

Laboratory studies have shown that zinc acts like insulin when

administered to insulin-sensitive tissue and that it seems to

stimulate insulin action.

1] It binds to insulin receptors, activates

insulin signaling pathways, and more, all of which result in glucose

uptake by cells and clearance of glucose from the blood.

[2] Zinc is also necessary for the correct processing, storage, and

secretion of insulin and it can protect against β-cell loss, a hallmark of

diabetes.

3] Because zinc is so closely tied to insulin functioning,

zinc deficiency is associated with poor β-cell function and higher

incidences of insulin resistance.

A very good source of zinc is garlic.

2. Magnesium

When your blood sugar level increases too often,

your body develops resistance to insulin.

And when that happens, your blood sugar level

would always be on the high side and that is the

beginning of a deteriorating health.

Talking magnesium based supplements has been

shown to reduce insulin resistance, especially those

who have type 2 diabetes and maintain the body's

natural control.

With magnesium, you could limit the resistance and

stop the high blood sugar level before it becomes a

problem or regain the control if the problem has

started already.

A good source of magnesium is Avocado pear.

3.Magnesium Chloride

Magnesium Chloride - a naturally occurring salt

that is readily available in supplement form - is

particularly helpful and very efficient when it comes

to controlling blood sugar levels.

It not only provides the benefits of magnesium alone,

but also improves the overall metabolism & digestion

of not just sugar, but of proteins.

By doing that, it makes digestion easier and reduce

many stomach ailments, which is turn helps your body

absorbs other necessary ingredients needed.

Hazelnuts and almonds are a good source of this food

nutrient, but it has very little quantity in them to make huge

impact. But in form of a supplement, it has been tested to

work more efficiently and faster.

4. Biotin

Also known as Vitamin B7 and Vitamin H, Biotin can be

found in variety of nuts, fruits, vegetable and fish.

What it does is this; when you have high levels of biotin in

the body, it lowers blood sugar levels by keeping everything

running efficiently instead of piling it up.

And the good thing is that; your body doesn’t store biotin.

Once it work is done, it passes through the bloodstream and

the excess amounts are eliminated through urine.

So for biotin to reduce blood sugar level, it has to be taken

every day in form of Supplement.

Interestingly all of these food nutrients are found concentrated

in?

Natural and herbal supplements can help to restore
the body to a place of balance. But, it’s probably going
to take more than one thing, or even two. In fact,
it might take between 5-10 supplements to restore your health.
If there is a “serious” health issue on the table,
it will take much more time and effort than that.

Here are ten reasons to consider supplementing your
diet with high-quality nutrients:

1. Current commercial agriculture techniques leave soil
deficient in important minerals, causing the food grown
in this soil to share the same mineral deficiencies.

2. Many foods are shipped long distances and are stored
for long periods of time, both of which cause the depletion
of vitamins in these foods, including the important
B-complex and C vitamins.

3. Food processing, cooking, and preserving leads to nutrient
depletion in our food supply that makes it difficult to
obtain adequate nutrition from foods alone.

4. Many fruits and vegetables are genetically bred to improve
visual appeal and crop yields, not nutritional value,
which frequently results in lesser nutritional values
than our ancestors’ food supply.

5. Erratic eating habits, insufficient chewing of food,
eating on the run, and stress contribute to poor digestion,
making it difficult for our bodies to extract all
the nutrients it needs from food.

6. Pharmaceutical drug use has escalated over time.
Most medications deplete essential nutrients,
making people more vulnerable to deficiencies.

7. Specific times in life and health conditions may result
in higher needs of certain nutrients. For example, folic acid needs
tend to be higher during pregnancy, while menopausal women
may be vulnerable to calcium deficiencies.

8. Increasing levels of environmental pollution in our air,
water and food may cause our bodies to use more nutrients
than normal to detoxify and eliminate harmful substances.
This is especially true of the antioxidant vitamins,
some of which include: the “ACE Vitamins:”
Vitamins A, C, and E.

9. We all have genetic weaknesses, including higher
needs of some nutrients, higher rates of depletion for certain nutrients,
and an increased likelihood of genetic expression of some
illnesses if vitamin or mineral deficiencies are present.

10. Many nutrients have been proven to prevent or aid in the treatment
of health conditions like high cholesterol, arthritis, birth defects, and cancer.
Check out my articles on the vitamins and minerals that help prevent cancer.

It is important that you always consult a qualified health professional
first to avoid any drug-nutrient interactions.
And avoid supplements with sweeteners, colors,
artificial flavors, preservatives, or fillers.

Nothing will take the place of eating a good and healthy diet.
But taking quality, whole food-based natural supplements
can go along way towards helping you maintain a better level of health.
Besides, if you’re still working through some
bad habits (skipping meals and not eating organic foods),
