We enjoy quite a few unprecedented technologies today, but much more of the stuff that we use has been around for ages. Ancient humans may not have been able to text or upload selfies, but they enjoyed everyday objects like flushable toilets, chewing gum and nice purses just like we do.I Inspired by imgur’s post, we decided to make an extended list of the oldest examples of everyday objects. Keep in mind that these are only the oldest surviving examples of these objects many of these may have existed or are known to have existed even earlier.

One day, some of the things we're using now will be termed old and archaic..

Imagine how the guy with the oldest sunglasses or pants will be feeling then, like fly. Not knowing that the best is yet to come.

13. Cannabis Stash (2700 Years Old).

The world's oldest weed stash was found in a 2,700-year-old grave in the Gobi Desert in 2008. Nearly two pounds of the still-green plant material was found. A barrage of tests proved the marijuana possessed potent psychoactive properties and casts doubt on the theory that the ancients only grew the plant for hemp in order to make clothing, rope and other objects. Yes, they used it for getting high too. The stash was found lightly pounded in a wooden bowl in a leather basket near the head of a blue-eyed Caucasian man who died when he was about 45. Researchers believe he was a shaman from the Gushi people, who spoke a now-extinct language called Tocharian that was similar to Celtic. What is still in question is how the marijuana was administered, since no pipes or other objects associated with smoking were found in the grave. It is currently believed it was ingested orally or fumigated.

14. intimacy gadget (28,000 Years Old).

In 2005, German scientists discovered one of the world's oldest sculpted phalluses 20cm of polished siltstone lovingly created around 28,000 years ago. The stone member was discovered in Hohle Fels Cave near Ulm, Swabia, by a Tübingen University team. It bears the scars of having been used to knap flints and was reassembled from 14 fragments. (Knapping flints involves banging two rocks together to shape stone in order to manufacture tools.) Despite this abuse, and in a delicious leap of imagination, it's been speculated that the life-size phallus may have been used as a prehistoric intimacy gadget. As Professor Nicholas Conard, from the university's department of Early Prehistory and Quaternary Ecology, suggestively notes: "It's highly polished."

16. World's first computer.

In 1946 the first computer was announced. It was called ENIAC, which stood for Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer. ENIAC took up a large room and required several people to operate. She operated with vacuum tubes and could output 5,000 addition problems in one second. The computer used 170,000 watts of power, weighed 28 tons, had 17,840 vacuum tubes, filled a large building and cost $487,000. (By today's standards, that is about ten million dollars) It took several people to run her. It was basically a larger super fast calculator with some input features via punch cards. You think you have computer problems today? With 17,480 tubes, ENIAC required constant maintain as there was always a tube going out. On average, one would go out about about every other day. It took about fifteen minutes to locate the bad tube. It's longest continuous period of operation without a failure was 116 hours. Aside from the 17,480 vacuum tubes, ENIAC had 7,200 crystal diodes, 1,500 relays, 70,000 resistors, 10,000 capacitors and around 5 million hand-soldered joints. The typical computer you use today is of course tens of thousands of times faster.
