Manchester City Fan Thread!! by Krayola2(m): 5:25pm On Aug 15, 2009

This is the official Manchester City Thread.

Our new squad kicked off the 09-10 campaign with a deserved away win at Ewood Park. An early goal from Ex-Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor and a cheeky late goal from Ireland were enough to seal the deal and give SAF and his squad lots to worry about.

We no come sell groundnut o!!!

Recruiting fans. . .sign up here. .  Frustrated gooners are very welcome grin grin grin

1st of all we're accepting new fans. . . (just thought i should throw that out there grin )

Tevez played well. He didn't have much of a pre-season, if any, so I don't think he's even fit enough to be playing, but he played for about 25 mins. He took a good shot on goal, and was was a threat while he was on, though not very sharp. I don't think he'll be starting for another couple of weeks but I'm looking forward to seeing him play too. And don't get it twisted . . . City is going to do VERY WELL!!  cool

Feel free to drop by whenever you want. I'm Sure Tevez could use your support.  grin

@ Emperor
haha.  U never jam. Even the chief Mod is scoping us out. . . She is checking us out big time, thanks to Tevez. She'll soon be here on a permanent basis

I only support super teams, and Man City is headed in that direction.  cool If u want to join just ask and stop pretending. .  grin grin

Barca rules the world. .   Man City is about to take over England. Be very afraid. . . We just need to hire Maldini to come and train Wayne Bridge. . .the guy is a waste of space.

Re: Manchester City Fan Thread!! by Krayola2(m): 1:32pm On Aug 17, 2009
@khanye . . no mind dem. Manchester City is here to stay.

If we can be in top six by December we should be able to attract some more big players. Maybe we can sign Evra from Utd sef. . .u never know. Or Ashley cole. I know he likes money so it shouldn't be a problem grin grin. The LB position seems to be the weakest from that last game. I don't know much about the team though. Gareth Barry played very well, and besides Robinho, the attacking players did well. I really think the Man City project is goin to be a success. Europa League qualification would be fine for this season (Top 4 would be great, but  5th or 6th would still be progress IMO). We can build from there next season.

Haterz e ma run down!!!
Re: Manchester City Fan Thread!! by Krayola2(m): 1:36pm On Aug 17, 2009
chei!!  That Adebayors shot is FIRE!!! damn!! that guy is a beast. Arsenal and Utd messed up by letting Adebayor and Tevez leave. . .those guys are goin to set the league on fire. I just hope Robinho can find his Madrid form.

Manchester City Are Premier League Title Threat - Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he would be foolish to ignore the threat posed to his club's title ambitions by local rivals Manchester City.

"It would be foolish to ignore developments at Eastlands,'' Ferguson told ESPN.

"Manchester City do pose a new threat. We have only to look at how well Chelsea did with back-to-back championships after a massive injection of Russian cash to know money can talk."

Ferguson said he was curious to see if manager Mark Hughes was able to mount a title challenge, adding that the Red Devils don't fear their rivals.

"All the leading clubs are looking with interest to see how Mark Hughes handles the situation and whether he can make it work," he said.

"We are all looking over our shoulders, though as far as Manchester United are concerned, it is not in fear.''

Ireland hails City's mentality

Stephen Ireland believes the attitude in the Manchester City camp is geared towards success this season.

Much is expected of the Blues in the 2009/10 campaign, with the Abu Dhabi United Group having bankrolled a substantial summer spending spree.

A 2-0 victory on the opening day at Blackburn Rovers bodes well, with the new arrivals slipping seamlessly into Mark Hughes' side.

There is still a lot of work to be done before City can claim to be a Barclays Premier League force to be reckoned with, but the early signs are positive.

Ireland accepts that the Blues must continue to improve if they are to compete for major honours, but he feels the club are better prepared to challenge this term than they were 12 months ago.

BETTER ATTITUDE
"We are nowhere near the finished product but this was a good start for us," he said following Saturday's impressive showing at Ewood Park. The difference between this season and the last is the team spirit.

"From the moment we arrived back for pre-season the manager has been drumming it in to us about how we had to be better and mentally stronger this season.

"He said we had to have a better attitude and he was right. There were some bad habits in this squad last season.

"The manager and the coaches were trying to get us out of them last season but because we were in Europe and had so many games and so much travelling I always felt as though we just didn't have enough time on the training field and away from match situations to sort it out and put things right.

"What he has done this time is get players who have the right attitude. They are quality players of high calibre but they are also winners and that's the difference.

"These guys are inspirational. There is a hunger there and a desire and they have the right approach to everything. I want to play with these players. This journey is only just beginning."
