Below is a press release from the Ogun state government;

Ogun State government has confirmed the partial collapse of a four-storey building at Itoku area of Abeokuta.

The building was still under construction when it caved in, Friday morning.

However, there are no casualties, while rescue mission is still ongoing.

The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who is presently on the site of the incident, has assured that the cause of the collapse will be investigated, while also asking the good people of Ogun State to remain calm and cooperate with the rescue team.

The Governor also said integrity test will be conducted on the other part of the building to determine its fitness.

I will rather trace it to the foundation of the structural engineer who stamp the drawing, also the team of site engineer need to be question, the promoter or the client.
Building failure is majorly base on the site engineer, who through his gain will compromise standard. Also the client in most cases will tend to cut cost.
Thank God no life was lost, is high time we need to seperate quack from qualified civil engr on site.

Dear Governor late last year you ordered that a multi million naira church auditorium under construction at the roof level, belonging to a parish of RCCG to be brought down because its in a residential estate

As a smart Governor that u claim to be you could have turned the auditorium to a cinema, a libary, an e - centre or any reasonable structure that will benefit the society,

But out of wickedness and annoyance you acted a fool

Now this is happening to you...

ITS CALLED KARMA!!!

crap
Mr Gomina, you are the cause of this building collapse. In a bid to launch 40 projects @ 40. Contractors rushed so many projects using substandard materials and skipping norms just to show off your wonderful performance.
I fear this is the first of many to come, the case of the street lights from express to imowo roundabout where the technicians came the next day to pull out the cables and so many padded projects.
Sir, you need to launch an investigation into all the dire minute project or else you will be in the news weekly for one collapse or crackdown or the other.
On the otherhand, you have been a senator & 2time gomina. So you may look away and think you have nothing to loose.

omo ogun ise ya...put on your puma
