Thanks

There is no particular reason why.... its all depends on your ability as an applicant to be able to convince the VO that your intentions are real, that u r not trying to escape the (good) Nigeria condition grin

And the Grace of God might b a factor to consider too.

My worry is the exchange rate. The whole thing has skyrocketted. And now its like paying tuition through Form A will be quite challenging.

They know all this are normal. You can talk about your interest in continuing your education but don't worry about the opt part.

Best to stick with the questions asked .... why would you bring up Opt matter. The Vo knows every student is given additional one year OPT so why would it come up .

You seem to be eager to put youself into trouble.
If you need tips, go through this tread and see kind of questions asked

Mr .... no school sponsors visa. Get your I-20, pay sevis fees and apply for your visa.

If you want to know more about the whole student visa ish, look for any previous part of this thread and read tru it as much as possible. You will understand how it works.

Good luck.

Hello Nairalanders,
I usually come on here to read posts and information. I normally don't post. I must say a very big thank you to Nairaland. This platform was very instrumental to my success today. At exactly 8am today, i was granted F1 visa to study in America at the US embassy in Abuja, after seeing three persons get denied F1 Visa. Here is my interview script.
Me: Good morning sir
VO: Good Morning, can i have your passport?
Me: I gave him my passport and was looking staright into his eyes and tried as much as i can to maintain my composure and i remained confident.
VO: Can i have your I-20 and sevis payment confirmation forms?
Me: I passed them to him.
VO: what are your plans to the United states?
Me: I going to study MSc Healthcare Administration and after which i intend to come back to my home country to take up leadership and managerial roles at NGOs such as UNICEF and WHO, and other public health sectors in Nigeria.
VO: What is the name of the university you are going to attend?
Me: I told him.
VO: How did you hear about this University?
Me: A friend of mine who attended the university told me about it. Then i went on to research about the university and i found out it offers course i am interested in.
VO:Did you apply to other universities?
Me: Yes
VO: what other universities did you apply to?
Me: University of Michigan, University of Washington and University of North Carolina.
VO: why did you choose that university over these other ones?
Me: The tuition fee is relatively affordable compared to the other universities. Also the MSc Healthcare administration in the university i chose contains modules/subjects that i am interested in, unlike the other universities.
VO: You applied for a visa to attend a conference in America earlier this year(february) which was denied?
Me:Yes
VO: paused, takes a glance at his computer and then he said "But you already have a masters"
Me: yes, Masters of Science in Public Health from England.
VO: Why then do you want to acquire another masters?
Me: I have tried applying for Leadership positions at NGOs such as UNICEF and WHO upon my return to Nigeria, but they keep requesting for MSc healthcare administration for such roles.
VO: I want to give you visa, issues me the white paper.
Me: Thank you sir.
VO: Pick up your Visa and passport in Two days time from ************** address. And make sure you travel to the US on time.
Me: Thank you sir. I was super excited but could not even show it, i don't know why.
Once again, Thanks to you guys, you all made it possible!!!!!!!
NB: He didn't ask me for any document, not even a bank statement. I am eternally grateful to God.
