Jonathan Didn’t Found Niger Delta Avengers – IYC by iflywithbuhari(f): 10:58pm On May 15, 2016
The umbrella body of Ijaw youths, the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, has described as untrue allegation by an ex-militant, Israel Akpodoro, that former President Goodluck Jonathan founded the Niger Delta Avengers.

NDA, a new militant group in the Niger Delta, has unleashed mayhem on the region, blowing up oil installations and pipelines.

Reacting to the allegation, IYC spokesman, Eric Omare, said in a statement on Sunday, It was nonsensical to imagine that Jonathan, who conceded defeat and congratulated his opponent even before the final result was announced, would contrive such a plan.

The IYC said, “The attention of the group has been drawn to a statement issued by one Israel Akpodoro, who claimed to be the National President of National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators alleging that former President Jonathan founded the Niger Delta Avengers.

“The initial reaction of the IYC was to ignore the said statement considering the fact that the said Akpodoro is unknown and has no pedigree in the Niger Delta region.

“However, we have consistently been inundated with calls and messages by concerned Nigerians all over the world as to the true position as far as the allegations are concern. This response is to set the records straight for the benefit of the reading public.

“The allegation that the NDA was formed by Jonathan in a meeting he attended in January 2015 preparatory to the 2015 general elections to make the country ungovernable for his successor is absolutely untrue.

“It is nonsensical to imagine that former President Jonathan who conceded defeat and congratulated his opponent, current President Muhammadu Buhari, even before the final result was announced would make such a plan.

“In the first place, the January 2015 meeting of ex-Agitators and stakeholders in the region was not attended by Jonathan and the meeting never resolved to make Nigeria ungovernable for President Buhari.

“The IYC leadership also attended the meeting and the President of the IYC, Udengs Eradiri was one of the speakers at that meeting. The meeting was called to calm down the youths of the Niger Delta who were aggrieved with the attack on former President Jonathan in some northern states during the campaign for the 2015 Presidential elections.”

The IYC recalled that when Buhari, the then presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress came to the southern part of the country to campaign, especially the South-South, he was warmly received by his party supporters and traditional rulers that he visited.

It said specifically that when Buhari visited Bayelsa State, home state of former President Jonathan, the group even took the extra step of providing security to ensure that the campaign was peaceful in order not to embarrass Jonathan and the people of Bayelsa State.

It, however, said that reverse was the case when Jonathan went to the North to campaign as he was stoned and attacked by hired youths and thugs allegedly sponsored by opposition politicians in that region.

The IYC added, “This situation made youths of the South-South to be aggrieved and it was in that state of affairs that the then Presidential Adviser on the Niger Delta, Kingsley Kuku, in conjunction with the Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, took the proactive step to call a stakeholders meeting where the attack on Jonathan in the North was condemned.

“They asked the youth of the South-South to give peace a chance. It was never resolved at that meeting to set up Niger Delta Avengers and to make Nigeria ungovernable. The initiators of this historic meeting deserve commendation rather than condemnation.

“For the records, the said Akpodoro was never an ex-Agitator; hence he could not have been selected to address such an important gathering of stakeholders in the region. The issue of his being moved out of the meeting because he opposed the idea does not arise as the even the media personnel who were in the meeting can attest this fact.”

We know he didn't. True believers and proponents of democracy know that Jonathan practices a matured brand of politics that is all about principles, ideas and policies, not hate. It's only the fans and lovers of The APC Avengers that believe Jonathan would descend so low as to create a group whose sole purpose is to disrupt governance. Jonathan does not belong to the same school as his successor.

I wish he was even funding them!

I wish we had radical people down south like we have in the North!

The avengers are doing a nice work if you ask me,

note: they have never taken a single life unlike Buhari's brothers the herdsmen!

Let this contraption be disintegrated and let every baboon go their way!

Is it difficult to ask?

Who believed that Jonathan had the guts, intelligence or resolve to go against President Buhari's government in the first place?
Lmao cheesy grin

The militants can continue to deceive and confuse themselves on who is sponsoring who, the bottom line is that any scAvengers that think they can stand Buratai's barrels will be leveled, whether they come out from under their fishing nets or not.

I learnt several things from this piece.
1, There was Indeed a meeting.
2,Niger Delta Ex- agitators were there.
3,The Youths were angry due to perceived bad treatment of Jonathan in the north.
4, Issue of avenging the perceived treatment arose.
5, Few months after Jonathan stepped down and Buhari's anti-corruption drive is on, A Niger Delta group Known as Niger Delta Avengers emerge.

THE TRUTH
Isreal Akokodoro is speaking the TRUTH! Jonathan is indeed behind the group Niger Delta Avengers.

Let me tell you. That man was there to chop and make his friends chop as much as possible . It was a you chop I chop principle. Nothing matured there and definitely bad leadership.
The current situition was caused by the downturn in the oil market and massive corruption that killed all the restructuring we could have done before that

Out of his wits, out of his depth and bereft of ideas. The anorexic looking, incoherent, languid, decrepit fantastical rètard had to find someone, something, anything to blame for his inertia and inability to get any task done. And who else? Oh yeah GEJ quickly comes to mind. He'll make an easy target. An Ijaw man and the immediate past president. Ah what could be be better? Quickly someone get me a paid hack, i've got a hatchet job to be dispatched effective immediately!
Funny thing is not even burarètard's diehard supporters takes the allegation seriously. The whole shenanigan was dead on arrival.

Jonathan was a rare gem in Nigerians political field, who believes only in peace and prosperity. There is no record of Jonathan having made any hate speech or any inciting comments.

You're the one deceiving yourself. Nigeria is already losing over 800 billion daily because of the recent bombings by the avengers.
