LPG Conversion Values:

We are frequently asked about the various LPG (Butane) conversion values.
People ask the questions in many ways and the simplest way to answer most of them is to explain in details below:

Unlike water, 1kg of LPG does NOT equal 1L of LPG. This is because the density or specific gravity of LPG is less than water.

You can convert:
LPG kg to litres (1kg = 1.75L)
LPG Litres to kg (1L = 0.75kg)
LPG Tons to Kg (1ton=1000kg)

So to convert a 12.5kg cylinder to litres, it is calculated to be:
12.5kg X 1.75L (standard conversion rate)= (21.9 litres)

to convert a 2500kg worth of gas Litres (for plant owners), it is calculated to be:
2500kg X 1.75L = 4375 Litres

[b]Note: [/b]LPG pressure vessels (tanks and cylinders) are recommended internationally to be filled to 85% capacity, this is to give room for the expansion of the gas when the temperatures are high.
