while I believe that crankshaft or camshaft position sensor is bad. I want you to watch this video, so you will be better informed. It is a common problem on Nissans. It is a pathfinder by the way, but it is still a Nissan.

check whether you are using the right oil for the engine. it is not all oil that works for your engine, for instance, using an oil that is very viscous can cause this problem.you know that before an engine works the oil needs to circulate well and oils are thick when cold,so if you are using a thick oil,the thickness is doubled when engine is cold and it takes more time for the oil pump to send oil to the top of the cylinder, this results in Longer cranking time especially when engine is cold.in order to avoid this, check the cap of your engine cover, you will see the recommended oil for your engine.you will see something like 5w-30, 15w-50, SAE 40 etc .when you look at the oil container you will see this same number. that is the right oil.

Please guru in the house I also have this same hard starting issue. I have changed the two camshaft sensors and the crankshaft sensor but it still exhibiting the hard starting behaviour, longer cranking time etc.

I have scanned the car the only relevant code it gave is P0021: Intake Valve timing control Performance Bank 2. The other codes are heated oxygen sensor related codes.

The car is d same Nissan Maxima 2004 as the OP.

Please your help will be highly appreciated.

Change your intake valve timing control if all wiring to it is fine.

Thanks Mayor2013 for the advice.

If you are talking about the intake valve timing control Solenoid, I have already changed that. But I was told the code P0021 is not really for the intake valve timing control solenoid( code 4 dat is P1111 or P1136 bank 1 n 2) .
