I observed that Nigeria has a lot of SMEs - Organisations that cannot afford to purchase relational database management systems like Oracle, SQL etc, or the expertise to use the freeware like MYSQL. Most result to using Microsoft Excel, but are oblivious to its numerous features, uses etc.

To analyse questionnaires depending on how they were administered, if manually (paper) a template will be designed in excel where you input the responses (check boxes or drop-down lists can be used to ease data entry), if electronically administered with Survey monkey or other software the data is usually synced to excel.

With this information on Excel, data can then be cleansed, grouped and pivot tables generated which basically analyses the data. Charts can also be designed to depict this data.

The essence of a questionnaire is to obtain information (preferences, views, opinions etc), respondents fill the questionnaire and the data needs to be analysed for conclusions to be drawn. Excel provides this platform.
