Economics of course....... An economics can rise to the post of manager in the banking sector while accountants stop at cashier...

Economics is very more lucrative

Economics could be said to be best because of its wild range of knowledge on finances and managing decisions. But accountants seems to sell more because of the orientation of employers. It's easier for an economist to be an accountant and a manager but it's not so to the others.

In naija this is the other of precedence
1. God
2. Connection
3. Academic qualifications

If u got the first two, then you're good to go..
Whether you graduated with HND in economics, business administration, or accounting.
You still got better chances than an msc holder with just no.3..

Economics is the best course in the faculty of social and management science cuz Economics covers all d areas of bus admin nd accounting. Sorry to say biz admin is jst lik road side course cuz even dog sef fit study am and account is a one way course cuz u can only work as an accountant but unlike Economics dat is very wide and u can use it to work in any where. If you notice in any university after some important science courses Economics is d nxt and economics students are treated wit respect... Shout out to all RATIONALIST in the aos

Economics. anybody can be an accountant... in Nigeria, an SSCE holder with an ICAN certificate is more valuable than a BSC holder in Accounting.. anybody can be a Chartered Accountant irrespective of your discipline, you just have to pass their(ICAN) exams.. but you have to go through the university to be a certified Economist. and An Economist is a Business Administrator also... it's just too many things in one.

Economics, the actual reason is this, as an Economist you are equipped with policies that direct the economy of a nation i.e monetary policies, fiscal policies and the rest.

The knowledge acquired from macro and micro Economics cant be over emphasised, because these are what determines imperative decisions.

well, you may be right, but don't you think you might be discouraging someone who's probably gonna succeed being a manager? We should just be mindful of the words we utter.. It goes a long way than we ever thought. Thanks.

As for me I will say Economics because it is the father of the remaining two. Despite the fact I am ACA (in view).Economics generates information to be account for and administer.

if u wanna be a professional accountant, I'd advise u study Economics as a first degree, so you could be versatile in your approaches to problem solving scenery. then when u through u can go for ICAN/ACCA.

For clarity sakes, this isn't true.you got it all twisted,an idea of accounting gives a glimpse of the rest. Believe me,economics is in accounting ie you study economics to be an accountant.
Even in layman's term,to be able to provide accounting info, you must understand the economic framework and management

Between Accounting, Economics and Bus. Adm. which do you think is more lucrative and has more job opportunities in contemporary and futuristic Nigeria?

Accounting. very lucrative with job opportunities in every clime; by the time hundreds of accountants are employed less than ten of others find jobs.

ICAN is the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a body charged with regulating the accounting profession. The Institute also proffers professional designations on candidates that have successfully completed required examinations and issues licenses to those who wish to set up an accounting practice. Hope this helps wink

. Guy u deserve an award for this. Best advise so far if you ask me, as regards Nigeria's Labour Market, versatility is the name of the game. Just be a utility professional, be an active member of a professional bodies, join a network of professionals e.g Linkedin, then you are good to go. ....*end of Discussion!
