Actually, Nigeria has been broke since independence.....because our sources of revenue have been based on the sale of raw materials...whose prices we DO not control.

In the 1960's it was agric. When that failed in the 1970's....we turned to oil. Oil has failed us twice...in the 1980's and today.

The truth of the matter is that Nigerians should wake up and realize that we do not have the money....and the basis of our revenue generation is always in danger of being hit by fluctuations in the price of the things we sell. The minute we wake up to that .....the better.

So...time we left that oil alone...and became a strong manufacturing economy by spending more on power , transport and education....and less on useless government jamboree welfare projects.It is time we woke up to the fact that there is no free ATM dispenser of money. We have to work for it by developing an innovative manufacturing based economy.....not an oil based economy.

That is the truth of the whole matter; if only we consolidated on the gains from Agriculture in the last dispensation; things would have been different in term of food production.

U de mind the mumu? 30tri is our budget for the next five years, @ PMB's current 6trillion/annum, which mean, that is all they ever made(income from sale of crude). GEJ's budget never reached 5trillion not to talk of 6trillion, some people are just plane fools, and engaging them makes one a bigger fool.
