Your allowances would be paid up to according with the stream 2 though ur april allowee would come on or a day to ur pop.... With these facts known i kindly sugest that these young youths should stay out of trouble and be calm until the commission is done with the ongoing logistics.... Camp will surely come and go... I guess its the excitment experience of camp that is building in you guys... Pls be patience

Youths of today go and be productive. During my post-graduation from university, NYSC was more of a distraction than a productive exercise. I searched for and was already working as a contract staff at a firm before and during NYSc to gain some experience. By the time I was done with NYSC I was armed with lots of professional training, relevant work experience and an offer letter for a fulltime position which I considered rejecting. Open your eyes and take responsibility for yourselves rather than wasting your time protesting.

Having heard the leaked conversation that ensued between a Prospective Corp Member and the Director General of the National Youth Service Corp, Brigadier Sule Zakari Kazaure, I am convinced to say that the sole problem with Stream II Mobilisation is "Communication Gap".

It is not a news that Nigeria is faced with harsh economic realities and the current government is an advocacy of lean government. In lieu of the fluttering economy, let Nigerian Government either scrap the programme to award certificate of Exemption to awaiting graduates or mobilise graduates for a duration of three - six months to cut recurrent expenditure.

With all sense of honesty, there's no way a national programme that's meant to re integrate the nation after the civil war (1967-1970) is becoming a clog in our wheels of success.

The 13 billion deficit in the programme's budget can be channelled to other economic sector that will help to raise the nation bar.

Candidly speaking, the programme have lost its cause. The beauty of the programme lies in the Orientation Camp. The process that heralds it is nothing but a waste of National Resources. In a situation where Five to Six years was expended in learning a Course in higher institution and at the end, I find myself in a class teaching or probably taking a subject that is totally strange to me. How can impact positively?

For the purpose of efficiency, the programme can be merged with Ministry of Education and Other Professional Bodies to meticulously deploy graduates according to area of specialisation. With this initiative, graduates will find it worthy of its cause and ernest to be deployed.

I want to admonish the Federal Government of Nigeria as a matter of urgency to meddle into the matter of a programme that is gradually turning the most vibrant and productive part of its population into being aged and idle all in the bid of mobilisation.

This Is not the time to be idle but to be productive.

I have a complaint against the NYSC organization. I am a prospective corps member (PCM) of NYSC batch A 2016. It is no longer news that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is set out to frustrate and degrade the lives of youths and graduates in Nigeria. On 8th of February online registration commenced for the 2016 NYSC Batch A orientation course scheduled to commence on the 2nd of march, after the registration however, NYSC time-table was changed and orientation camp postponed to 30th of march and subsequently 1st of April, most of us tendered our resignation letters to our employees as we were assured the date was not going to be tempered with again, few days to the anticipated date, the course was postponed yet again to the 27th of April to print our call-up letter on the 21st of April and no excuse whatsoever was given. Yet all prospective corps members waited patiently. The due date (21st of April) finally arrived to print our call up letters, admist confusion and tension PCM's were unable to print out their call-up letters only to be informed 24hours later by NYSC that not all corp members were in stream 1; and that 27th of April was scheduled for stream 1 corps members and 21st of May was slated for stream 2 corps members. Most Prospective corp members got an unusual message, 'because you are not in stream 1, you will be notified when to print your call-up letter'. Others got the message 'you are to print your call up letter for the 13th to 21st of may 2016'. In other words 21st of may was the new date slated for Batch A stream 2 corp members, that is; one month after Batch A stream 1 printed their call-up letters. Yet again stream 2 PCM's waited patiently. Few days ago stream 1 passed out from camp and the due date for printing call up letter for stream 2 arrived (13th of May), NYSC sent random messages to some corps members informing them to start printing on the 14th of May, and few minutes later were resent a message 'sorry, you cannot print your call-up letter, you will be informed when to print your letters in due course'. No formal update has since been published by NYSC on their site to explain the reasons for the unusual procastinations, corp members who haven't gotten messages have since been in denial by NYSC. On the 14th there was an update on NYSC social media account notifying us our letters will be ready later that day but yet again it was another empty promise. This is 16th of may and there is still no press release or official statement by NYSC for us to go ahead and print our call-up letters. NYSC has denied rumours of postponement but rumours reaching batch A stream 2 corp members is that Batch A stream 2 is now Batch B to leave in July or November which will be 5-9months after we are supposed to be in camp for the scheme. NB: We have patiently waited for NYSC till date, some of us since 2014. We are unable to get decent Jobs to sustain ourselves and our families or further our studies because we do not have NYSC dispatch certificates, youths have been forced to stay idle, wasting precious time waiting for the scheme, so many resigned from their petty jobs all because we were eager to serve our fatherland. How long will we continue to wait? IT IS EITHER WE ALL (BATCH A STREAM 2) CORP MEMBERS LEAVE ON 21ST OF MAY or OUR DISPATCH CERTIFICATE IS ISSUED TO US or WE ARE DEPLOYED TO OUR VARIOUS STATES OF DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT ORIENTATION CAMP AND GIVEN PLACES OF PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT if funds are insufficient. The hardship in Nigeria is unbearable and it will be utmostly inhumane to punish the youths and leaders of tommorrow by promising them to continue waiting for an incompetent organization and a failed scheme that is not in the best interest of Nigerian youths. We can no longer wait for NYSC to determine the course of our future. Do you even know that stream 2 are at advantage, the will receive their full 12 months Federal allowance(except state allowance with reference to States that pay) and still pass out the same day with stream 1....

The NYSC on its part was wrong to have sent the stream 1 to camp without laid down provission for stream 2 cos i know it must have anticipated the short in finace....
Well my advice........ The postponement will never last a month and half judging from what i have read... So PCMs should prepare them selves based on that yard stick . But when the soldiers start drilling you in camp and when you start doing the frog jumps early in the morning pls remember when you were agitating to be sent there... Unknowingly to some of you, you may end up in States like borno kano gombe sokoto kebi et ceteral its almost like hell in camp there... I was deployed to gombe but we ended up on jigawa.... The hot sun, the flies omg.... Finally the word is "patient"

You must know these people are not itching to serve for the love it but their careers are being put on hold. Exemption is only for old and sick graduates.

Talking about real world, I think I have more experience than you sis. I did my Nysc 10.years ago. I have worked for both private and govt. I have visited and study in not less than 10 countries of the world. I wrote my first academic book 20 years ago in my SS 3 which still sale in bookshop till date.

I have the experience of being a lecturer at home and Abroad with a near PhD degree and I have a school in Nigeria. Mind you, I wasn't born with a silverspoon! I designed my life. I doubt if the world is realer to you than I.
