Assalaamu alaikum my brothers and sisters,
We thank Allah for making us witness yet another Ramadan and pray He makes it easy for us to maximize the benefit therein.

I'm mooting the idea of having Nairalanders iftaar for those of us in Lagos, although it's a pity that most of the active contributors here are not Lagos residents.

I'm very serious and will inshaAllah foot the bill. At least I know oyb,Abuzola,fellis,dominique and a few new or fringe Muslim Nairalanders are Lagos-based. Javalove is also usually in and out of Lagos. This will also provide an opportunity to meet other Muslim Nairalanders face to face.

DATE :Let's suggest a date. But I think Friday or Saturday evening will be better.
TIME: Iftaar time is of course around 7pm but convergence can start from 6pm
VENUE: Option 1-Any eatery can be selected, but I'll suggest Mama Cass in VI,given its spaciousness. Option 2: I am ready to host everybody at my Ajah apartment, but Ajah is somehow far, and the heavy traffic obstacle on people's way home. 

So any idea on making this a reality? And who is interested?

NB: Since this topic has been 'home-paged', let us interprete some Islamic terms used here to the non-Muslims who may just be curious. Iftaar means breaking of fast. Monghrib is sunset salat(prayer).

Jarus good initiative and may Allah strengthen the bond between us all and use us to acheive great things for islam and make us a great benefit to the muslims and not a liability to islam. Realy wish it was a time i was on holiday to naija. Abuzola my person make sure u go there o! VI to agege no be lagos to abuja nah.

Although i am not in Lagos, Jarus if most of the people going will be from the mainland would it make sense if i sugest you guys could find a place on the mainland and where you could pray maghrib and then pounce on the food to start the feast.

Jarus, May Almighty Allah reward you abundantly for this lovely gesture. I would have loved to be there. Sadly, I do not live in Lagos. (eyaaa. . . ) I wonder why you thought I lived in Lagos.
But your offer is a very good one, even by intending to do this alone, you already have your reward, insha Allah. Then there is the reward for actually carrying out the real deed. You stand to gain sooo much.

TIME 6.00-7.45PM: Convergence starts 6:00pm
VENUE: Mama Cass Restaurant, opposite Zenon House, by Eko Hotel roundabout, Ajose Adeogun street,VI. If you are coming by public transport, from Obalende or CMS board a bus to Eko hotel and stop at final bus stop(Eko hotel roundabout). The venue is just few metres to the roundabout.
PROGRAMS:
-6.00-6.10: Arrival/Convergence/Seating
-6.10-6.15: Opening Remarks (Moderator)
-6.15-6.30: Faces behind the IDs (Introduction: Real names, occupation, marital status etc)
-6.30-6.45: Short sermon( Topic: Islamic brotherhood. Anybody to discuss)
-6.45:6.55: Pre-Mongrib Iftaar(Dates, fruits, water etc)
-6.55-7.10: Monghrib
