Gurus in the house, can someone kindly tell me what these "check sign" and "car image" sign on the dashboard screen represent. I want to be sure my new mechanic is not trying to swindle me. I broke pass broke. Thanks all.

This is a check engine sign. You may need to diagnose your car and trace the fault.

Check = Car needs to be checked with a diagnostic scanner for faults.

The one below indicates a burnt bulb. You have to check if all your car's light bulbs functional and of the right type.

The one to the right, which for some reason you did not mention, shows a fault in the Supplementary Restraint System (Airbags). This is an hazardous condition.

Your temperature gauge shows that your thermostat has been removed. Except if it isn't too long you started the vehicle before taking the pictures.

If your car has a third, center brake light, you will get same warning.

I suspect this is Camry.
You can replace the bulb yourself, if you pick such interest.
