President Muhammadu Buhari, has called on the National Assembly to quickly pass the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Bill 2016 and others currently before it.
The president made the call last night at a dinner he had with the National Assembly members at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He also urged the passage of the Mutual Legal Assistant in Criminal Matters Bill, Federal Capital Territory Appropriation Bill, Statutory Budget of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Bill for Acts for Domestication of Agreements for Avoidance of Double Taxation between Nigeria and South Korea. Spain, and Sweden respectively.
He said the FCT and the NDDC could not deliver their statutory mandates unless their budgets were approved by the National Assembly. He thanked the legislators for the passage of the 2016 budget.
Buhari explained that the dinner was aimed at marking the 2016 Democracy Day and appreciating the National Assembly leadership membership and management for their efforts.
He said he was conscious that on June 9, 2016, the National Assembly would complete one legislative year.
Earlier, Senate President Bukola Saraki congratulated Buhari’s administration for its first year.
Those present at the dinner included the Speaker Yakubu Dogara; former vice president, Atiku Abubakar; national leader of the APC Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the APC national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

Will they even listen? I really do think that one of the reasons they cannot pass this bill is because they are the major culprits.
all of them are always carrying ghana must go bags from one place to another.
Policies like these are the only hope for the masses. God help us

Imagine important bills awaiting passage by the senate delayed but a bill to protect sakari and the forty thieves from CCB; social media bill; gender equality etc. speedily got to the second reading.

Selfish lawmakers, next election we ought to vote for credible lawmakers.

These are very important bills but can we trust the sincerity of our senators who only serve the interests of their stomach infrastructure?. Its like giving them a pistol to shoot themselves in the leg.. This is the advantage a totalitarian/autocratic/dictatorial government has over a democratic one. Thats why china is develping really fast. No waste of time in passing bills that would span the tenure of the president before going into a second hearing. I do hope for the best anyway. GOD BLESS NIGERIA

What is Goodluck Jonathan's achievement?
He was the president for about 5 years.
GMB came into power. In the face of falling oil prices he gave stated bailouts to pay salaries.
