I was in my apartment on 3rd June,2012 around 3:40pm doing something when when i heard people shouting from outside that boko haram had attacked us.In a jiffy,all of us were outside trying to locate where the said attacks really occurred in our vicinity but to our dismay,it was a plane crash that just happened three streets from ours.What!everywhere was in in turmoil.We could even see the smoke billowing to the sky by mere standing in front of our house.Without wasting time,we rushed to the site and behold down there the Dana Air Flight 9929(McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft ) passenger flight from Abuja to Lagos, Nigeria was buried in the remains of the two-storey building it crashed into at olaniyi Street.

In all 153 passengers and 10 people from the building were confirmed dead.Three children of one of the occupants of the buildings were sent out to called electrician.That was the saving grace for them,if not,they would have been in the building at the time of the site.On Monday when the then Governor of Lagos State came to inspect the site,he took them in his convoy.President Jonathan also came on Monday(the incident happened the previous day - Sunday).

We learnt that the incident occurred due to the twin engine failure the aircraft had.It was managing its utmost in reaching Muritala Muhammad international airport which is five minutes to the crash site.

These were the three kids that survived in the building.

Millions of people from near and far places thronged the crashed site to have first-hand experience.Police tried in futility in dispersing the surging crowd until the soldiers came later on to cleared the pathway for emergency officials to do their work.
When it happened,it was only a police patrol vehicle that came,it was after forty minutes that fire-fighters vehicles started arriving the scene.

None of the passengers in the plane survived but there were survivors in the building.Those who were dead where the one in the section of the building where the aircraft hit.

There are also reports that three generals were on the ill-fated flight
Ehime Aikhomu, son of Late Admiral Augustus Aikhomu, also said to be on the crashed plane.
