If 3.4 trillion naira has been recovered these things shouldnt happen;

1. Sharp decline in monthly federal allocation to states. Most states are walking very tight ropes. Unable to pay salaries. I am presently owed 5 months salary. Last month only a meagre 281 billion naira was shared. Throughout the last regime, it never fell below 340 billion

2. Rising spate of unemployment. Most federal and state parastatals confess they are truely under staffed but cannot employ due to lack of funds. Blaming lack of funds for inability to function is the new norm

3. Businesses are daily being crippled as the economy suffers from lack of sufficient activity in the small and medium scale sectors; drivers of the economy. Without cash for capital, this segment of the economy goes weak.

4. Desperate moves to obtain loans from the world bank and China. This should clearly be uncalled for

5. Hundreds of projects have been halted and hardly any commisioned in the last one year. All the contractors allude that the government is falling short of the terms of the contract.

6. Move to increase taxes on all levels without commensurate improvement on the execution government's social responsibility to its citizens

Feel free to add yours. Just facts, no abuse

Buhari must realise that freezing the whole system and trying to control everything will make him ultimately fail.

Saving up cash or funds is the crudest means of wealth creation. If that is Buhari's plan or idea its a shame! Of what use is 3.4 Trillion if Industrialisation is at a halt, capital projects stalled, standard of living on the decline, Salaries and lawful entitlements of citizens unpaid.

Save your megabytes, my dear. The partisan crowd that follows Buhari does not care whether the economy is crumbling, whether times are hard, or indeed whether Nigerians are dying of hunger. They'll start hurling abuses at you.

The same way Boko Haram has been technically defeated is the same way they technically recovered 3.4 trillion.

Just like the 2016 budget, that list of so-called "recovered loot" was padded with lies, propaganda and more lies. What they truly recovered was not more than 20 billion naira in total. The only thing this government has achieved is padding Nigeria with lies and propaganda.

the father of modern economics said that "in the long run, we're all dead". let him name the looters and pay the money into the federation account to be shared so that states owing salaries can pay up. there's too much suffering in the land already.

Truly people go to school to aquire knowledge not wisdom.

Even Abacha loot recovery is an achievement in this APC govt

If you read the breakdown of those figures again, roughly 75% of those are yet to be credited to the CBN. Some still have some legal strings to them, some are 'expected' from foreign banks.

Saving up cash or funds is the crudest means of wealth creation.

At the above though, the president could be guilty as charged, OTOH, cleaning up a mess and setting new standards require tough measures.

There is more to the recovered loot than meets the eye. It is a classic case of the more you look the less you see. The government reeled off some opaque figures and was expecting all to cheer it for a job well done without questions being asked.
We need to know from whom the money was recovered and to what end the government plans to put the recovered loot.

Money was recovered but not the amount quoted.

1) we know that thisday, Ait and jafaru isa returned money, why don't we get to know others?

2) Buhari is not going to be in president for ever, what if a shielded looter aspires for office in the future how do we get to know of his criminal past.

3) the talk about not releasing their names in order to encourage cooperation is simply hogwash. They return money in order to avoid prosecution so if you do not return the money the security outfits will definitely come for you. Returning the money is at your interest.

4) the names of the looters would have verified the supposedly sum being quoted as it would have been tagged alongside the amounts to arrive at a grand total.

Seeing comments on different threads in support of the government led me to two conclusion.

People will believe what they want to believe and

Nigerians deserve the leaders that they get.
