Ariani: This has nothing to do with Tribalism, no one is boasting about this and that, it's utterly ridiculous, childish and immature (and very un-African). Africans are known for humility. Stop speaking trash. |

kaylivin:and I will put it to you that being literate or otherwise doesn't find expression in any form of violence carried out by a person or group of people. well you said an average Hausa man only thinks of sex and food alone, that's why they live for the day. I beg to disagree with this point of yours, this statement of yours is as false as saying Nigeria is located in Europe. ask your grandparents about the history of commerce in Africa, bilateral trade and entrepreneurship, they will tell you if unbiased that it started from the north. you ever wonder why most archaeological findings about Africa human evolution and development speaks more of the North than any other region in West Africa? it's because the people from the North have always device a means to provide for their needs and beyond. so tell me, what reasoning could be more logical than that? talking about biased thinking and religious sentiments, let for a moment imagine the North ain't an Islamic dominant state, do you wanna tell me they won't still have love for sex and food like you said earlier? if we bring it down south where the supposed educated beings habit, we will discover that the south are more promiscuous in sexual related atrocities. the number of sexual workers in the south outweighs the North, number of rape cases, baby factory, domestic violence, incest, among others outscores what we have in the North. or maybe you tell me any form of crime committed In the North that we won't find in the south. the western world have used their education to develop their state, but was has been the effect of education from our so called educated southern brothers, what differentiate them from the northerners, what development has their education brought to the south. most of what we enjoy today are left over developments from the west. I think the South should save us the embarrassment of being tagged educated if they can't clearly distinguish themselves from the uneducated northerners. in summasion, hypocrisy is when you accept your grands parents are educated due to their own sense of reasoning, but don't wanna accept a Hausa man sense of reasoning also constitute his education. such hypocrisy is pathetic for a self acclaimed educated person. |

LARRYDKING: Since they always produce the highest number, there is a strong likelihood they also produce the best. Imo and other southeast and south south States have been dictating the pace with highest JAMB scores for many years. Go and check. Finally, there is a sizeable population of Igbos in every university in Nigeria and indeed the world. They come there and perform. They dont suffer enclave mentality like you. And we know there is no free tertiary educatioin in Nigeria, so they pay. Besides, if you do not have the requisite JAMB scores to enter your mother's university or you dont have the numbers to fill available slots, you can only complain when others with the requirements fill them up. So am really sorry for your misfortune. doooo |

kelly72: We know u to always boast of owning the world when in actual fact, u can't own urself so I'm not surprised u said u have a sizeable number of serial jamb failure seeking admission yearly into the best universities in Nigeria. Well, most of them just keep choosing and getting rejected. For a long tym, u may maintain the record of leading in the number of jamb candidates cos most of them will retake jamb nxt year. I keep wondering why u flat heads won't stick to ur region rather than jumping around looking for greener pasture in a region u so much detest the host. lol. U talk about requirements? C'mon, the requirement I see them possessing is that of hawking gala. U know we won't stoop low to dive to ur region where u can barely set up facilities for standard a learning environment. Keep coming to SW Nigeria, we're accommodating people. |

scholes0: Well, Nupes are not the only indigenes in Niger state if u'd like to know, they are just about 40% of the population and majority of them do not even reside in Niger state, they migrate so so much. That low percentage of Jamb registration u see in Niger state is a cause of the Gbagyis and other tribes in the state who don't really like going to school, and also the lot of hausa-fulanis in Niger state who migrated from the core north and now claim indigeneship to the state. Nupes go to school very well just like their other middlebelt neighbours like Igbirra, Igala and Idomas and Nupes are the second largest tribe in Kwara after yoruba. See, dont let the fact that almost everybody in Kwara state speak yoruba language deceive u. Even those so called 4 non-yoruba dominated LGAs of kwara north, the people there have an almost perfect command of yoruba language. Only Kwara south indigenes can we say are 100% yorubas by ethnicity, infact i've heard from a kwara indigene that Ifelodun LGA in Kwara south even has some Nupe speaking villages. As for Kwara central (Ilorin axis) far from it for this region to be considered as yoruba land. This region is fully controlled by the emirates, and most of the elites, ruling houses even some commoners in this region will never claim yoruba ethnicity even though yoruba language is their only mother's tongue. Ethnicity and spoken language are 2 different things. This is why Kwara can never be said to be more than 60-65% yoruba by ethnicity. Kwara central is a melange of people of fulani, nupe, bariba and yoruba ancestries united by yoruba language but not by yoruba culture or ethnicity. |

One thing that many of us must understand is that this list is not a 100% proof of the literacy rates of our states. Some states naturally have more indigenous population than the others and naturally such places would have higher rates. I have always guessed Imo state to be the state with the largest population of indigenes in Nigeria, so am not surprised, but not that we can say Imolites are more educated than Deltans, far from it. |

SpicyJosBabe: Imo State is far more educated but the irony is that it has little positive impact on productivity among the populace. There is this issue of people believing that graduates are not meant to hustle but should move into labour market seeking for unavailable jobs. IMHO vocational education is more productive than formal education and more important in Imo State. I met someone asking why a graduate should drive Keke and was highly disappointed. Nobody is too big to drive Keke or sell recharge cards. 1 Like |
