One Aisha Buhari cannot be said to be the wife of the president unless he has concrete evidence and proof to buttress his allegation. Fraudulent people use other people's name to perpetrate fraud anywhere in the world. Fayose should be ready to defend his comment by producing the said Jefferson and others he has mentioned involved in the bribery. He should also be ready to provide the said account and the account holder of the said account where the transaction was done by the said Aisha.

I think Fayose's family should be able to check their son to know if he is normal as an individual. I feel for him because he needs psychiatric evaluation.

It has since been clarified that the culprit (who claims to be Buhari's daughter by the way) is not in anyway related to Buhari. THe Buhari name used by the culprit was just a catchy name used to hoodwink unsuspecting magas and mugus just as is common in most 419 scams where the conman uses the name of a notable figure; there are several reports to this effect and this issue has since been thrashed and trashed.

So if in your wildest dreams, you expect Buhari to start responding to every frivolous baseless allegations which can easily be disproved by an SS1 teenager, then you must be a very heavy sleeper.

The Aisha Buhari named in the bribery scandal involving a U.S. Congressman, Williams Jefferson, is not the Aisha that is President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, a former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, has told PREMIUM TIMES.
“I can tell you authoritatively that the Aisha Buhari named in that case is not President Buhari’s wife,” Mr. Lamorde said when contacted Tuesday morning. “It is another Aisha Buhari entirely.
“I was the director of operations at the EFCC at the time so I know about the case very well. I can tell you that it is not her (President Buhari’s wife). That much we established.”
Mr. Lamorde, who was EFCC chairman until he was removed in December 2015 by President Buhari, is currently on course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
PREMIUM TIMES contacted him for clarification following the claim by Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, that the Aisha Buhari mentioned in court documents to have transferred $170,000 to the convicted American politician is President Buhari’s wife.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Mr. Fayose had accused President Buhari of being corrupt.
“Even the President cannot claim to be an angel,” the governor said, in reaction to the freezing of his Zenith Bank account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
“The estate he built in Abuja is known to us. His wife was indicted over the Halliburton Scandal (sic). When that American, Jefferson, was being sentenced, the President’s wife was mentioned as having wired $170,000 to Jefferson. Her name was on page 25 of the sentencing of Jefferson. We can serialize the judgment for people to see and read.”


The governor’s Special Assistant on New Media, Lere Olayinka, later circulated copies of the court document which named one Aisha Buhari as being involved in the Jefferson scandal.
The documents showed that in some of the exhibits tendered in convicting Mr. Jefferson of bribery, the Aisha Buhari was mentioned as transferring $170,000 to the American politician using a firm as proxy.
“Government Exhibits 36-87 (6/26/02 $170,000 wire transfer from account in Nigeria in the name of Aisha Buhari to an account in the name of The ANJ Group, LLC, identifying “William Jefferson” as Beneficiary),” the U.S. Government Sentencing Memorandum said on page 22.
The U.S. had at the time requested Nigeria to help it investigate the Nigerians named in the scandal, and Mr. Lamorde, as director of operation at the EFCC at the time, coordinated that investigation.
“It is unfair to link the President’s wife with that case,” he said. “She was definitely not the one involved, and Fayose and other Nigerians should know this.

Aisha Buhari: Our pressmen are very lazy

"As for Ms. Buhari, who is living in Virginia, it’s not clear who she really is. For one, she is under investigation in Nigeria by its Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, said its head, Nuhu Ribadu.

Mr. Ribadu said he is uncertain if her name is Aisha Buhari, but he added that she is not a daughter of General Buhari. The former Nigerian ruler agrees.

“I don’t have any relationship with that Aisha Buhari,” Mr. Buhari said. “I don’t have any daughter called Aisha Buhari living outside this country. She is not my daughter.”

Mr. Hines recently testified in a deposition in Mr. Assiba’s lawsuit that he had learned last year from Nigerian officials that Ms. Buhari was under investigation. Soon after learning that, he said he wrote a letter to American officials in Nigeria that followed the one in September 2005 that asserted he had a contract with Ms. Buhari. Mr. Hines stated that he told officials in the second letter that he had not hired her.

On a recent day, Ms. Buhari stepped out of her town house in suburban Washington, wearing a long blue patterned dress and a head scarf decorated with strands of colorful threads. She declined to speak with a reporter seeking an interview.

“You have no business here,” she said. “I’ll call the authorities.”

Fayose and his supporters must have noodles in place of brains. Did they read the report at all? The report talked about a Ms aisha Buhari, a middle aged woman (in early 2000s) living in the US, who claimed to be the daughter of a former head of state, and Fayose and his supporters ( fellow waiters) interpret it to mean Buhari's wife ( whom they also accused of being child when she married Buhari in 1989).

If anybody named Aisha Buhari is Muhammadu Buhari's wife, then the president must have dozens of wives. A simple Facebook search will show some of them
