5. Make ammendments and beg for mercy...

If that's the reason, then start over or appeal of you can wait. Honestly, I can't wait for Google to ban those deceitful bloggers that make you click on a headline just for it to take you to an Ad page. Some even use pornographic photos. Are they that clueless ? That's not nice. I would start reporting such Ads to google. It doesn't make any sense.

My advice is

1. Get a new domain entirely different from thd former
2. Sign up a new email address entirely different from the former and with a different email address provider ( i.e if you used yahoo before then sign up using gmail)
3. Edit all contents in the former website, change all graphics and all what not.
4. Stop clicking on ads on your website by yourself and don't ask people to click the ads on your site.

Note: Google is like a techie planet where everything you do on their planet is closely monitored and traced with alert notifications that appear on all types of gadgets they use in monitoring all their 'citizens'. So be careful not to break the law (their terms and conditions) or you get KICKED OUT or sent out on EXILE....

Get a New domain just as Generalmac said, then forward the new domain to your web hosting (I can assist you freely on this)

How long does your suspension last for the invalid click, should not be more than one month.

NOTE: If you are not banned DO NOT APPEAL FOR SUSPENSION, just accept the suspension, because you appeal might pissed them off and you get banned for life, I once read some experience online only to get ban the next morning after he appeal for suspension. Google owns its business and they take it seriously than taking a publisher seriously and would not tell you your offences if they suspend you for invalid click, it should stated in the email sent to you
