@MSTIA....dis is a new one o,am shocked!! So a man's count can be too high thereby stalling conception. Hmmm,we learn everyday! The last time DH checked his count it was 10mill...and I read dat d ideal one is from 20mill and above. Brought it to d notice of d Doc and all he kept saying was dat count as low as even 5mill has had record of impregnating dat its not too big a deal since his motility was good bt advised we take supplements n eat healthy.
I ve asked DH to go for anoda analysis cos its ova 3months now since we took d first one.

Heyyyyyyy, thank God ooo, hope I won't be banned again. @Udoka, I was shocked when I heard it ooo, U need to see the expression on my face when the doc said it. DH's coun.t was 180mill......., this the doc said was on the high side, as the resulting effect was high ab..or..tion rate. I tried to research online when we returned and I found out that counts above 150mill..... was high and did not imply that the man was a superman, but in a case of inf.ert..ility, it could be what was responsible. he is expected to go through a more extensive analysis, so the doc will be able to the next step. It is well. We learn everyday. I know we are all close to the end of our waiting.

Hello Fruitful Ladies! Ive been a silent follower of this thread and i'm amazed at the level of encouragement and strength you guys draw from each other!
I'm also in the waiting game! I know that OUR redeemer liveth. I've been married for 9 months and yet to conceive. I had a mymectomy in January this year and has commenced ttc(May) as my Gynae advised. We made a conscious effort last month (May).However, i still harbour fears due to my doc's comments post ops that my right tube looked like its blocked and stuck under my navel but he had to free it while the left one seems ok but that i would a HSG to know the true picture . I have been scheduled for hystesonogaphy 18th Jun and HSG 20 Jun which falls within my CD12. AF is suppossed to show tomorrow but i've not really been having signs of it like i used to in the past. I hope and pray it does not appear till after nine months...
This is not an easy road to walk but i believe with God we will all rejoice one day & soon!!

Sorry i have been MIA on this thread, work has been hectic with plenty travels in-between. It's nice to see the positive energy in here and i pray that it all translates into a BFP for everyone by God's grace.

Udoka, am particularly encouraged by your visit to the naturopath & i pray that very soon, your prayers will be answered. Hebrew woman, thanks for the lectures on the low progesterone, my doctor also started me on progesterone injections last week just as an 'insurance' to prevent any early m/c. It is well! MSTIA, your husband's sperm count is really high.... You should be swimming in triplets by now...lol! But i've never heard of very high sperm count being a cause of infertility, possibly need to research more though. Rocksqueen, it might also be nice if you can see a naturopath on the retoverted uterus thingy. . . .maybe there could be a more 'natural/herbal' way out.

I promise to popping in here as often as i can but i don't want to be posting too often so that it's not mis-construed to mean something else as i know this is a very sensitive thread. I wish everyone the best with lots of baby dust and i know that the morning has come, all our testimonies for our LOs are here in Jesus name.

ohk @ Mstia i am back from google and deres rily something called too high s.perm count and it is called polyzoospermia....but from what i see its from about 250million and above. The reasons they gave were if its too plenty it would be too crowded and not be able to move to find the egg,
also in most cases of polyzoospermia the sp.erm cannot penetrate the egg coz of some genetic flaws, and also that abortion thingy it causes too.
IUI is said to be the best way to overcome polyzoospermia...
What did your doctor say was the way forward?

Been reading this thread though I'm posting for the first time. I've always wanted to post my story to encourage the wonderful women on this thread. However, I'm going thru a very rough phase. Just had a D&C to clean out my 12 week old angel baby This is my first miscarriage and first D&C..after the emotionally and physically traumatising episode, I was shocked to see blood clots the evening of my d n c? I thought d n c was sppsd to clear everything. The bleeding has also increased after the d n c. Am I overreacting, is this common? My doc is not so apologetic for my miscarriage (happened due to his negligence) and refused to meet or talk to us after the procedure..so going back to him isn't an option.

@nikkygal, pls if u dnt mind my asking, how many weeks are u at the moment? And how many weeks were you wen ur Dr started you on d progesterone injection? How often will you be taking it and for how long? Dnt wry dear, no early m/c no matter wat...Gid has done it for you and he must finish the good work he started.

@smilenw am so sorry for your loss dear and i know exactly how you feel cos i've been thru it twice and i dnt wish it on my worst enemy. As for the blood clots, it culd because the DnC didnt clean out evrything so its ur body's way of getting rid of wat is left. Thrs no need for concern if you jst passed out the blood clots and it stopped, but if ur still passing out clots then you need to go to the hospital and have an ultrasound done to make sure nuttin is left in ur womb. But either way tho, its highly recommended to get an ultrasound a few weeks after a miscarriage to make sure that the womb is clear and ready for another baby. As for the bleeding, i bled for about 2 weeks with both of my miscarriages. Evryone is diff but the bleeding shuld be gettin lighter as the days go by or at least after d first week.
You can go ahead and post your location here if you need help finding a gud Dr and mayb smeone can recommend one.

You mentioned that your Dr was negligent but you didnt say exactly wat he did, jst leave it to God to fight ur battle for you and dont blame ur Dr. Go ahead and find urself anothr good DR.

As hebrewoman rightly said, have an ultrasound after about two weeks. You will still be passing out blood for some few days, but if its getting heavier instead of lesser, then u need immediate medical assistant.
When l had my first micarriage and D&C, l treated myself as if l had a baby, by sitting on hot water, taking local pepper soup to clean out my system.

Thank u . I'm based @ Lagos. My first pregnancy was a troubled one ..After ttc for 3 agonizing yrs, I myself was surprised when it was least expected. I was overjoyed at thought of putting behind the days of taunts and sympathy. But I started bleeding from week 5, so much with clots and cramps for 3 months !!. Each scan till 12 week showed empty gestational sac. Our faith prompted us not to go in for a D&C and finally, when the bleeding went beyond our control, we agreed for the D&C. But our prayers n tears were not wasted n my Lord intervened. A scan on the day before the procedure showed a fully developed healthy baby, growth perfectly in line with my LMP, with heart beat n all. Till date we believe that baby was miraculously placed in my womb @ week 12 ! From there on, my pregnancy took a U turn n I had the best time in my life. I delivered my miracle, a bouncing baby boy on x'mas day.

We did not have to try much for my second pregnancy as I became pregnant after ttc for just 2 months. That itself was a shock as I'm PCOD. As opposed to my 1st pregnancy, this one was smooth from the start...I had a different doc this time as we had relocated to Lagos. I briefed him abt my 1st pregnancy and he couldn't care less. Nevertheless, I was asked to come in every week for a scan and progestrone shots(from week 5). The scan showed I was 2 weeks behind my LMP and doc thought it was prolly because it was a girl n girls are slow starters ! We decided to trust him. Week 12, they tell me I have 2 sacs(our qstn why it went unnoticed all this while was tactfully ignored), one with a live baby with hb while second one had stopped growing somewhere @ 5-7 weeks. The radiologist said only a miracle can save the baby as the empty sac wasn't allowing live baby to grow. Doc ignored the report and ridiculed us for even bringign it up. I asked him if I should go for a bedrest n once again I was ridiculed :/ After a week, I started spotting and he thought it was perfectly normal !!! But soon, I started bleeding heavily and then came the worst cramps I've ever had. I was rushed for a scan n the scan said my sac with the live baby drew blood from the empty sac and my baby was no more No more hb detected. We saw the doc and all he told us was' how do u think this happened ??!' He mumbled this 2-3 times like a delirious man and then announced ' get ready for a clean up'. Before we could blink our eyes, I was rushed in for a D&C and we haven't seen the doctor since. He refused to meet us after the procedure and the staff were eager to send me home even before I could open my eyes from the anaesthesia effect. I now hear stories abt how he kept assuring a woman that her ectopic pregnancy would eventually become uterine and when her pain became unbearable, she had to run for her dear life.

Thank you dear. More than the bleeding (itz still heavy o) my concern is the cramps and the clots. It hasn't gotten any better even after the D&C. Maybe I'll wait for a day or 2 and go for a repeat scan.

But there was no reply concerning my topic about my plan to go for ivf or how i can unblock the tubes, so i felt i was the only one with such case in Nigeria cos no body seem to understand me here then, so i quite, i began to dry up, i became sorrowful, i was no longer the person i used to be, my complexion change from fair skin to dark skin, i went through this for good heart broken seven years, to cut the long story short now the testimony is with me here dragging my computer keyboard with me, I DELIVERD A BOUNCING BABY BOY IN OCTOBER 2011. are u crying now? pls stop crying my case was worst than urs, so if i can be a mother at age 38, with those complications u too can. I am thankfull to God almimity for giving the gift of life by this time last year i almost lost my life as a result of poor management of my miscarriage that i had. I was 20wks gone with no problem so i thought! Until i heard a sound from my womanliness, notice small leak of water did know what it meant, went to ask friend since it was my very frist she told me it normal so relaxed. slept 4 awhile. DH came back from work and asked why i had eye bag i just told him what had happened so we decided that i was to see Dr the next day after church. While in the church i felt like throwing up so i went outside as i was throwing up my water broke, it is was like i had fell inside a bucket of water. Dh quickly took me to hospital. Let me fast forward the story to when the nighmare started after i had spent 3days in the hospital my baby heart stop beating so my body started to expel the baby slowly i was then taken to labour room where i was abandon for the best part of the night slowly my baby started coming out with his feet i called the attention of the Dr he came and asked me to call the nurse as it was her duty to take care of me, mean while as the baby was coming out i was losing blood lots and lots of it. The baby finally came out hanking btw me and the placenter inside of me that was at About 1am in the morning . The placenter did not come my baby was hanking swinging as i could do anything i once again called on the nurse to come and help me remove the baby while we waited for the placenter to come out she said no that i had wait for the placenter to come out that when she will clean me up so my dear sisters i had to carry my pre -mature baby 4 close 2 six hours hanking btw my womanliness. @Smilenw...I read ur post n it brought tears to my house. It seems our Docs dese days only care about money n not d health n condition of their patients. Its so difficult to find a reliable one. Don't worry dearie....The same God who did a miracle in ur life is more dan able,just trust in Him. {{{HUGS}}}.

Let me put the story on hold for now. After 3months we started trying 4 another one at frist i was told that after 6months my body will go back to normal my sister is been one year now. I did not notice early that my brest was bring out milk until we saw this Dr she examined me that was stp last year placed me on parlodel 4 one month. after which i took it 4 another 2 month then in Dec i was place on clomind 4 three straight months. The last dosage of clomind was in Feb. Dr then asked my Dh to bring his fliud for analysis which he brought after stalling 4 about 1 month. Analysis = made fliud 47 m. With red blood cell + , he was placed on some antbotics 4 about 4wks, after that some vitamins 4 about six wks, i wish us all trucksload of baby dust. To be continue i am using phone to type sorry about the very long story hmmm!

Then each time my mum calls me and i'm sounding tired prolly as a result of exhaustion from house chores the next thing that follows in thick igbo accent would be{Nne nkea olu gi na 'ada otua idigo ime ) Pleaaaseeeee!!

I know in all of these, most of them mean it in a good way without realizing it puts undue pressure on the woman.
I have decided to start seeing the glass as half full because i know God who started the good work in my life is able to complete it.
BTW i made my 1st post on this thread yesterday and AF just showed her ugly face this morning i'm so sad..... I know it is well, once i have life i have my next cycle to try again . Peace!!

Wow Kemi!! You are such a strong woman!! God will fill your home with children male/female!! And you would get trebble for your trouble...hmmmm Nigerian hospitals God will save us!

@ RocksQueen : I've been at the receiving end of so many rude taunts- but the worst that'll stay with me forever is something a very close relative told me before I had my son : I was lifting up something heavy and she said 'I've read that lifting heavy object will bring down ur uterus ..then again, u don't have one, so u don't have to worry ' God alone knows how I managed to ignore that comment while my heart was breaking into pieces within. After my son's birth, when she came visiting I asked her to take a ggod look at him since he came from a mother who did not have a uterus and she went pale !! I thank God for giving me a chance to give it back to her.

@ kemidebbie, i am so so speechless. I jdt dont know y sme pple are even allowed to practice medicine honestly. But like i always tell pple, let God fight ur battle for you. It is well my dear sister, wat doesnt kill u only makes u stronger. You miracle is on its way.

@smilenw, God will put a smile on ur face my dearest. Sme Drs jst dont knw wat they are doing. Like my Dr told me, its ok to grieve and cry but always remembr that evry disappointment is truly a blessing. Give ur body time to heal but i suggest goin to the hospital ASAP. Dnt think the passing put of clots and heavy bleeding is still normal so get it checked out. Mayb d Dr didnt do a gud job of cleaning out ur womb. I remembr passing out clots after my 2nd miscarriage and wen i emailed my Dr, he asked me to come in for an ultrasound that sme tissue might be left. And wen i wwent in, sme tissue was left and he then cleaned it out. I didnt hve a DnC for dat miscarriage tho, i miscarried naturally. But smethng can still b left even if u had a DnC.

@rocksqueen, i have a particular friend who is so damn insensitive to dis baby stuff. She's always asking me wen i'll be pregnant but i believe she means it in a gud way. I finally told her i had a miscarriage and since then she has left me alone. I realized that women who can get pregnant like chickens, dnt undrstand wat dis journey is like.
I also hve another friend always asking me wat am waiting for, so one day i got really angry and told her she needs to go n find husband first b4 asking me wat am waiting for cos i've never asked her wat shes waiting for b4 she gets married and dat am one step ahead of her, since i get husband but she no even get husband not to talk abt pregnany. Since then she hasnt ever asked me dat question again.
I jst gave her a dose of her own medicine and it got her very well. What even annoyed me is how smeone who never even marry can hve d guts to ask me dat question....mchewwww

Anyway ladies, hope we are all hanging in there, lets all remember that wen the intensity heats up that means you are closer to ur victory. Its always darkest jst before the dawn arrives.
