I pity whatspp, i see pride on their wings. They want to take away the very essence of what made people fell in love with the app which is 'usability across platforms'.

That is their headache. Sooner or later a company will build a chat app with classic that is usable on divers platforms and phones. Na that time their eye go open.

You can download Google Play Store on your BB10 device to get android apps. I use a Z30 and I downloaded the android version of WhatsApp on it.

We are not talking about who owns or doesn't own, but rather adding that the 2 other apps, though having same parent company, but are still stand-alone and separate apps, and are widely used by Nigerians, would also not be supporting the Blackberry OS.

Whatsapp will port back or tweaks would enter the market on how to run it on those phones. Worst case scenario I'd use my S60 Nokia for Operamini only, Whatsapp always killed the battery faster.

i don't think it should be a problem since one can install the android version. Probably they meant whatsapp blackberry version may stop working. Lets see how it goes.

There's an easy solution, do not update ur WhatsApp, and set ur phone year to 2015.

I hope BlackBerry finds a way of solving this issue.but if they can't,then my whatsap friends had better join me fully on bbm.if they refuse....friendship don end b dt.cant and won't leave my bb10 for any other OS platform just becos of a certain replaceable whatsapp.lie lie

I dunno why they decided to make this decision at this moment when almost everyone is falling in love with whatsapp. I guess they just want these phones phased away so people can start chasing to own high end phones like iphone 5 upwards and the likes of the recent Samsung phones..
I wonder what happens to blackberry passports, Porsche and other high end blackberrys people spend a lot of money in acquiring. Bad market..

You can actually get play store on any bb10 device, worked for me when I was using q10. .
