Pls i need help. It all started when i uninstalled my mcafe antiv n then went to browse. Since then my laptop has been going crazy. My sidebar is no longer workin, my windows player gone, my device manager gone, almost all applications r not workin, when i boot is starts window n then goes blackscreen then shows userinit.exe. I kno ow to format but my dvddrive is not good.If at all i shud format shud i get a new dvd drive n ow much is a new or fairly used one, Some one help pls

your windows if prob not genuine, u can use usb external cd /dvd rom driver

@deji, thanks i'v read ur stuff n i'v tried it all but it didn't work. Like before immediately after the windows song and logo comes on the desktop shows blackscreen instead of icons n folders n al.The setup f2 n f12 stuffs r al showin its just d blackscreen after d windows logo plus most of my applications are no longer workin seems like a virus probs.

Thats my predicament o, but how do i get a usb dvd drive i mean how much is d cost of a new or fairly used one n cost for installation n al. cant i change the one on my lappy and replace wit a better one cos mine isn't d inside lens type the lens is external. My lappy's a dell inspiron 6400.

bets thing is to take it down to a technician. if you want to use external cd drive you have to install the drivers dotn you ? since your computer is booting to a blank screen how are you going to install the usb cd drive

Wen i press the f2, it shows d bios stuff so what do i do from there. My task manager doesn't show nor allow explorer.exe n all those stuffs. But if i do it, how do i then make dvd play.

External usb dvd or cd drives are plug n play. U r not installing any drivers. If u plug it in n restart, u can use it 2 install ur os.
But have u confirmed dt its a virus attack or counterfeit windows issue.

A livecd would have been very useful for you. But nonetheless, external cd go 4 btw 4k - 7k.

In ur bios change ur boot order options 2 boot from dt external dvd drive 1st. Just plug it in, let d computer boot once into all d black screen wahala, then restart, go into bios n change d boot order. U can take it from there. Any issues just post here
