This couple has been married for 31 years. They have 2 daughters aged 29 and 19 and they also had a son who passed away 15 years back. The son would have been 24 this years. He started demanding respect from everyone around the braai stand, more especially the son-in-law. After all that ranting he then left the premises. Unfortunately the younger daughter had heard and went to enquire why he, the boy uninvited would come and disrespect his brother-in-law, in her family house. The boy without blinking further cursed the lady and her mother yelling that " your mother is a good for nothing woman who cant even keep her family together, b!*ch that does not even have a son". The rant went further to the boy making threats that he and his mother were soon going to move into the family house, be it the lady's family liked it or not. He told the lady that his parents have been good people towards each other and the father was more comfortable with them than the young lady's family. At this point the street was a little packed with on-lookers. Obviously, this brought shame and frustration for the lady and she decided to narrate the story to her father first. For all the 19 year old daughter knows, Papa has never lied to her and indeed even this time around she believed Papa's version of events. Papa told her that it must have been a boy on drugs or a selfish individual. He even said the daughter should have told him, he would have put the boy in his rightful place. No one questioned how this boy got there in the first place, since the birthday was a very intimate gathering. The daughters never narrated the story to their unwell mother and the oldest daughter pretended not mind the whole thing.

Fast forward, three weeks back the youngest daughter learnt that her sister and mother had bought a new home and will be moving in end if July. According to the mother, she has been harassed by the boys mother for ages now and this has been happening in her husbands presence. Her husband gave her two choices, either get out or accept my son and her mother, take them in as family. The husband says that he wants the son to be part of the family for the wife has no son. A man without a son is an incomplete man according to him and by bringing him in, he hopes to groom him. According to the mother, ages back the two women clashed, though it was nothing serious. This " other woman" got married a few months after the clash but her husband passed away a few years back, maybe she now wants to remarry.
Truth be spoken the youngest daughter did notice weight loss and signs of discomfort from her mother, but mistook that as diabetes strain. The mother has now informed the daughters that their father (also new to her) has two other kids aged 10 and 8 from another lady.

This has caused lots of devastation to the family more especially the daughters for the fear of loosing their already unwell mother. The father has turned into this beast no one has seen before, bringing even more discomfort to the younger daughter for she has always known Papa as her protector. The oldest daughter has since deserted her own family to be with her mother and sister, which can later cause problems for her too. The youngest daughter looks even worse than the mother and one can use their imagination for the mother's current state? What can one do in such a state, how does one help the family? (daughters and mother). I am intentionally excluding the father for he is the cause of this in the first, I personally don't think he needs any help

Let the girls carry their mother and leave and ignore that man. Of course, people not in their shoes will come and say otherwise but lucky for you, I have the benefit of experience backing me up. My cousins in your situation couldn't even attend their father's burial in peace (they needed escorts) because the step-brother in question seized the man's accounts and properties and was selling them off to raise money for his friend's election bid. They're fine and even though the girls are not full sisters, they have decided to make themselves a family (plus their children). My mother told them to forget about anything their father left to them and look forward, because none of them were suffering (at the end of his life, all his bills were being taken care of by his girls, the precious son only showed up when he wanted money). I don't know where the guy is and frankly I don't care.

The weird thing is those 'precious'sons they seek usually end up miscreants they wish they never had. Thank God her daughters are doing well and matured, they should just take their mother in, uplift her spirit, take good care of her, give her access to quality health care, and let him live his life how he wish, he'll come crawling back.
