You are generalising when you say why do black people in africa. Not all black people in africa are tribalistic. For example in south african we see all blacks as equal and hence it won't be hard finding a zulu married to a sotho, pedi etc. I have noticed that its more common with nigerians the tribe issue.

well it simple when u marry ur tribesman or woman u maintain tradition, with tradition u uphold ur culture with your culture preserve ur language. Africa is at the top of the pedestal of continent, whose indigenous language is going extinct.and it going and it going super fast.

African tribes used to fight each other for land, water, cows, etc. Most of them. So there is a mistrust. But people of a village are relatives, unless it's a mixed people, which is rare. Marriage within tribes for my people usually is allowed between clans and sub tribes and also other tribes. It depends on individual families.
