Hope this coup suceeds. Erdogan created a conduit for ISIS to become the richest terrorist organization in the world.

Bro!! I will appreciate if you don't get things twisted.

Morals and orientation is our major problem here in Nigeria regardless of Northerners influence.

Kindly take religion which is the opium of the masses here with us out of the context.

We are ripe for democracy yet as it is obvious we compare ourselves to developed and western countries for good.

With military rule. Stability and control will be absolutely adhered to no doubt..

With such upbringing and availability of all needed facilities, we are on the verge of getting things right first, subsequently, democracy can be introduced for good.

Think deep and digest my opinion.

Peace be upon you bro.

I wish and always concur for a true and profitable Nigeria....

kikake:

Back to Sender. Military rule is what destroyed Nigeria.

During Military rule, a state shall announce N100 billion annual budget. At the end of the year, not even development projects totalling N50 million would be made. N95 billion would be stolen.
Worse, the military leader would deploy soldiers as governor or administrator to a state different from the soldier's state.

Worse, Military rule made northern generals redraw the political structure of Nigeria by proliferating undue large number of states and undue large number of political constituencies in the north, therefore with today's consequent undue over-representation of northern Nigeria in all aspects of Nigeria's political process, including in the National Assembly.

In fact, military rule made southern Nigeria now look like a small attachment to northern Nigeria to form Nigeria.

Most of the modern developments we have in Nigeria today came after 1999 when military dictatorship stopped in Nigeria.

The attempted coup was inevitable. Erdogan ruled poorly and with an iron fist at home, offended the White House, struggled with refugees and Syria's future. One might wish for a more democratic change, but in authoritarian countries, the military is usually the strongest institution and the only ones who might pull off an overthrow.

you are right here.. if there is one thing that this coup means, it's the anglozionist victory since edorgan changed his moves all of a sudden and to turn back to Russia for help or restore relations with Russia..

this is really unbelievable, just at the time Russia is winning, these crooks have hijacked power again.

this is not a good news at all. there are even news flying everywhere that erdogan plans to let Russia use the Incirlik airbase, the one NATO is currently using in turkey. this is red lines for the anglozionist empire that wants the blood to continue running in Syria.

this is not a goodness at all.

this means just one thing.. they want the war in its current position to continue and to always have bad turkish and russian relation.. the anglozoo cannot afford russia and turkey becoming allies in the region.

these guys are crooks, evil.

You are correct to an extent. There is no way the Turkish military will launch a coup without US support considering the amount of military assets they have in that country.

However I do not think it has anything to do with Russia. Erdogan became a problem for the US and other western states with his heavy handedness, poor human rights record and support for ISIS.

NATO leaders were motified when he shot down a Russian jet.

Obama actually gave him the cold shoulder the last time he visited the US and refused to meet with him.

He had intelligence briefings about this coup and the Western involvement hence the desperate attempt to woo Putin.

Hmmm... You may be right. Didnt look at it from that angle

honestly, that is the game plan.. the president 'just said they will overcome this'...

this is happening just when erdogan is stuck in the middle turkey has no one else to run to.... if there is one thing russia needs, it's turkey as friend in the middle east now..

this the west cannot afford to lose.. cos it will mean a huge victory to russia.

this is how you will know... all this while they have the power to remove him using the military option since colour revolution failed, why didnt they do that during the time erdogan shut down the su-24..

anyone remember how they removed beloscony..
see the timing again..

Vladimir Putin is fast becoming the New Police of the world.
Old empires are falling. With Brexit, unity of purpose is not easy to come by in Europe. NATO shall suffer.

With Turkey going anti-democracy, a new wave of global political disequilibrium shall set in.

Has Turkey gone pro-democracy with Erdogan? He may be democratically elected but he is not a democrat.

Can one democratically elect a dictator? grin What a paradox.

Russia has nothing to do with this, its largely due to the government's falling from grace. The erdoganian government is largely conservative, this is opposite to the general liberal belief held by the mainstream.

That is what you get after shooting down a Russian plane and running like a squealing pig to NATO for protection. Sadly this is the end of Turkey, The coup would empower the PKK, The Kurds, and other sects that have been oppressed by the Erdogan regime. The military may likely have the support of Russia and Erdogan faction(If he have any) will have the support of the West and ISIS. It would be a whole repeat of the Syria war that lasted more than 4 years. Let's see if Erdogan would be labelled a tyrant by the West like they labelled Assad.

Sweating? Nah. I bet the state department is secretly praying for this to be sucessful.

Turkey's MENA policy have not been in sync with NATO. So this is actually not a bad thing. The same secenario played out it Eygpt.

Well you're right, I'm guessing they must have had intelligence Erdogan was gonna get the boot.
Well it presents a dilemma to NATO as Richard Haas said "Do you support non-democratic coup Vs increasingly non-democratic leader" has to be the latter with Egypt as a case study.
Lol cheesy Erdogan is asking people to take to the streets, imagine the irony

Before any misunderstandings arise, I do not in any way support Erdogan. He does not represent the kind of government I would want for myself and family. However, has he not been democratically elected not so long ago?

As for the 'best news of the year', time will show. I pray there will be no civil war.

Sultan Erdogan fanboys, where are thou? grin

Erdogan's plate was full: repression of the press and heavy handed crackdown on freedom of speech, providing aid jihadists in Syria and Iraq and allowing them free unhindered access through Turkey, illegal cross border incursions into Syria and Iraq, the genocidal crackdown on Kurds where several Kurish cities were wiped out, shooting down a Russian jet which in turn tanked the economy when Russian tourists stopped visiting and the general instability that Erdogan's actions brought upon his country are all possible reasons why these brave military officers have staged this coup

Erdogan's apology to Putin and his move to seek a detente in relations with Russia and step back from his ill-advised and delusional goals came too late. Good riddance!
